Great question! I don't know, it "could" be... that 1 Thess. 5:2 is stating a simple truth, that no one knows the exact "date" & for us to "Keep on the watch"

1Thess.5:2: "for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night doth so come,"

...then once that day arrives, and we all realize what's going on, then "every eye will see Him..." and Rev.1:7 applies:

Rev. 1:7 "Lo, he doth come with the clouds, and see him shall every eye, even those who did pierce him, and wail because of him shall all the tribes of the land. Yes! Amen!"
