Guess NO official musicology DVD afterall Seeing that we are in the midst of 3121, I doubt that an official Musicology dvd will ever be released. Just like the purple one 2 move on 2 bigger and better projects. But it would have been nice 2 add it to the collection.

Well, after Rave and Aladdin, I have begun to doubt Prince's desire to release a concert DVD that I'd actually want to watch; i.e., a full, complete, uncut, concert, beginning to end, in DVD quality (not the VHS quality of Aladdin or the non-widescreen Rave). If the official releases are going to continue in such poor quality, I'll stick w/the not so official releases.
BTW, it'd be great to get that old Purple Rain era official release on DVD... -->> This Space 4 Rent <<--

Yes,I don't think so too.I posted this same question late last year. The Rave show was average but more in time legnth and Live at the Alladin was better although shorter in legnth which really pissed me off. Both shows suffer from decent audio quality sound.Prince has got a new band and I don't think Blackwell and Rhonda are in the band any longer.I still don't think it's too late for an offical Dvd release of the tour and considering it was in 2004 and the best tour I've seen in person so far!I'll still buy it.Peace!

I've never quite understood his live release agenda...he records every performance and after show, yet he's never wanted to release these...perhaps he's keeping them for his pension? Imagine if he released classic concerts clip by clip on the club for 1.77 each ... all those legendary after show jams and early concerts from 81-83....$$$$$ But I think it's probably more that he moves on to the next thing too quickly, and he really is too much of a perfectionist to release his "image" without meddling to the point of ruin. I had hoped for Musicology too especially as he didn't bring the tour to Europe, but I never really expected it would happen.
Wasn't there a TV broadcast of musicology in the states? If so there must be good copies of it going around.
