its completely absurd...I mean my goodness ARTWIAD is one of my favorite albumns but that doesn't mean I think its as good as Sign or Purple Rain. People really need to learn how to debate

Its amazing that u feel this way. SOT has it all, serious message songs, hard core rock, polished playing, raunchy sex and a blistering array of horns, falsettos, raps and attitude.
Hot thing is not a filler and neither is play in the sunshine, if anything it will put to rest any negatives vibesu may pick up off the drab but musically brilliant opener. Imean the content not the quality. Plus over two discs the songs get to BREATHE.
Another reason why its the greatest album Prince pplayed, is u play it now and it dosent sound dated, its music to last.
Never has any effort of sustained brilliance lasted so long. There is no way anyone could call it average let alones its not that great. Sign of the Times got me seriously into Prince and thats that.
No violence or threats.
Just return to the album and u will find it will give u more. Sometimes u will trip on how happy u can b!

I think that SOTT is Prince's best album. It blends great pop/rock/ and little bit of everything else into a cohesive whole. It's not my favorite Prince album(that honor goes to Around The World In A Day and Lovesexy) but it's in my top 3 and it is without a doubt a Masterpiece.

Hey, what do you guys think about SOTT? We should really discuss that album.

Wow, it looks as if many people can't even imagine the fact that others dont think it's 100% brilliant, or even his best album! Whats wrong with you people!?

The songwriting on Sign Of The Times knocks everything on those CD's out of the park. P went up about 100 steps witht he songwriting on Sign of The Times.
