I think we can conclude that there is no extended version currently in circulation. These songs may have been put on 12 inch vinyl, but to me a 12 inch is not a 12 inch unless the song is extended. Which is a shame because Black Sweat is ripe for an extended version... you have a point. What the use in using all that extra polyvinylacetate if there isnt an extended version Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

if there was, that shit would already be leaking left and right. It'd be on the front page of P.org. A new 12" would casue major ripples throughout the community. Heck, anything resembling an actual single with a b-side would be the talk of the town. Christian Zombie Vampires

$5.99 for single versions that would fit on a vinyl 45? You've been ripped off.

What the use in using all that extra polyvinylacetate if there isnt an extended version I agree that there should definately be an extended version but the reason they still make vinyl every now and then is for the club DJs. A good turntable has a pitch control that will slow down or speed up the record to match the beat of another record. They finally put a pitch control on some CD players but a lot of DJs prefer vinyl anyway because you can cheat by manipulating the speed of the record with your finger. Okay, your profile says you're from the USA, so I assume you're comfortable with English. So, if you're going to start a thread like this, here's what you'd better be prepared to supply: 1. The catalog number from the album. 2. The complete tracklisting. 3. The length of the tracks. Otherwise, you're just wasting valuable space on the internet. I did notice that the 12" credits Black Sweat as being 3:30 rather than 3:11.
I'm assuming that this not the case, and the track isn't 19 seconds longer.

But that still doesn't give justification to the people who claim 'I've got the 12 inch nah nah nah' and then refuse to admit it's exactly the same as the singles. It's collecting for the sake of collecting.

I can't express enough how disappointing it is that the album version of Black Sweat won't be any longer. Such a pity. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Most dj's prefer cd's now btw. Since cd players work the exact same way as turntables. The only difference really is the sound. Can't beat vinyl. The thing with a vinyl record is that they're big and heavy, and u can only bring a limited amount to each of ur gigs, in a regular bag u can fit 60 to 75 records, as to where in a "cd bag" you can fit over a 100 cd's (depends on ur bag ofcourse), each with 80 minutes of music on it. No comparison. I started dj-ing in 1988 with vinyl, when the first dj-friendly (with pitch control) cd players came out I was sceptical, and didn't wanna know about playing on plastic (cd's) Now that they made cd players that have the same feel etc etc as turntables, I hardly ever bring records with me on a gig, although I still buy them.

Right. I'm still hoping it will be released throguh the club somehow. ...or, just thought of this, considering this is a big major label release, it's not unlikely there will be a 3121 SE coming out a couple of months after the first release. Who knows?

I prefer the CD players also. There's absolutely no cheating whatsoever though and it took me forever to get the hang of the pitch control because I had put my finger on the record for years. My favorite thing about the CD players is the cue button. Wherever you press it on the song, it will go immediately back to that spot. When you mess up on vinyl, you have to cue it all over again. I don't know about that - I think it depends on which dj circles you run in and where you're located. I'm a dj in San Francisco, and almost all dj's show up to the gig with ONLY vinyl. I've seen some show up with CD's used to augment their vinyl, but its usually not exclusively CD's. Luckily, folks here are still into the art...(no offense to wherever you may be) [Edited 2/27/06 20:50pm]
