Hello friends. Today's topic for discussion: Why has bashing Jehovah's Witnesses and their faith become so commonplace and acceptable on this Web site and a few other Prince-related Internet chat/discussion areas. Most people wouldn't be caught dead making such derogatory statements about Jews, Catholics, etc. Had Prince converted to Judaism, would some of us here be so quick to trash JWs and target that faith with such negative and meanspirited commentary and thinly veiled punch lines.

I'm not a Jehovah but I would never bash them and I think people should respect other people's religions even if they don't follow that particular one. I'm sure the Jehovah's are peaceful people . We should be more tolerant of people's differences.

I think the JW bashing doesn't happen that much in here anymore.
And if it happens it is done by a select group of people who haven't got much else on their minds and in their hearts than the fear of strangers.

see they think the jw organzization is an evil cult and stuff like that and that makes them behave instantly unfriendly and disrespectful, even to the point of bashing the entire faith and all the people that are affilated with it.
you must forgive them, because they dont know how to put these things in perspective.

Having said that... the jw religion (and Prince on TRC) DO have some controversial ideas and doctrines and once they claim them to be the truth then it's not that strange that people get their panties twisted over it.

I could expand a little more, but since we have been having much of those discussions here (in which I participated a lot) I am not expanding on it right now... that is unless you may have a serious and interesting question or ideas about some of the doctrines...

In any case debates about these topics should remain respectfull.

As far as I can tell. there are many people here who enjoy discussing/debating religion. I've only seen a few ignorant "bashers" who make idiotic comments then flee.
They're easy enough to ignore.

I hope Prince wakes up before its too late!
