I've been pondering this for the last few days and was wondering if he has ever said anything in an interview about his fans? This question's came up after watching a Rodger Water's interview and he said that he knows that people have an emotional attachment to Pink Floyd's music.

So, does anyone think that Prince knows we have such emotional attachments to his work etc? ...and does he appreciate that? ...anyone?

1. He thanked us/the fans/the listeners (whatever you want to call it) during the acoustic set of the 2002 Celebration for sticking with him through the thick and the thin.

2. He talked about the diversity and the excellent music taste of his hardcore fans during the Tavis Smiley interview 2004.

3.....and many other times during interviews etc. but I can´t recall the details now.

And in 1985 he talked about the kind of fans he wants to have , those who stay with him and also appreciate his non-mainstream music...I think it was that Neal Karlen interview in Rolling Stone.

he invited us to hang out at Paisley Park and listen to the Rainbow Children with Kevin Smith before the critics....in Prince speak that means he likes us.

While being interviewed by Chris Rock (I believe in '97) he referred to us as friends. Wouldn't use the word fan. Have to watch that again to get exactly what he said about the "friends" though.

This debunks the whole "playing hits for the last time" thought process doesn't it?

Also in that chris rock interview he discribes his fams as "beauty personified". well thanx P u smooth talker u

Well he does talk in parables most of the time so it is hard to grasp what in the purple and peach hell he's on about. There's nothing that i could recall him saying apart from "We love you... Goodnight" at his concerts so I was keen to find out... that's all.

I don't think he's a billionair but he's rich on personality... sorry about that.

I agree that Prince is aloof at best at rude at his even better. I don't really think he's human...

I think the shortness of this thred is an indecation that he's not really said much about what he feels for our feelings towards him and his wonderfull songs.
