Prince's Influence in Strange Places I always find it interesting to notice Prince's influences in a wide variety of artists and pop culture. Here is a list of artists/songs that definately rip from the purple genius. Can you name any more? The obvious choices (Maxwell, Deangelo, Gwen Stefani, VanHunt, Nikka, Neptunes, etc.) are too easy.
1. Rufus Wainwright - "Shadows" from the album Poses 2. Bjork - "Alarm Call" 3. Beck - "Debra" 4. Tupac - Multiple samples 5. Public Enemy - samples 6. Bruce Springsteen - "Dancing in the Dark" 7. Phil Collins - "Sussido" 8. Chocolate Genius - New Album, "Black Yankee Rock", First Song

Agreed that the song is an obvious Prince send-up upon first listen but Beck doesn't immediately spring to mind when thinking of Prince appropriations.

It was one of those "Best Prince records made since Lovesexy" -albums released that and the next year, along with D'Angelo's "Voodoo" and Romanthony's "R Hide In Plain Site". I always preferred Romanthony's offering though. Where in the hell is he anyway?
