I have never been, nor do I think I will ever go to a Prince concert.
I do not enjoy large venue concerts. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Yea I know about TO! but..... he did NOT come to the rest of Canada, even to Alberta Yeah, geez, Prince. Canada's a big friggin' country. You live here part time, you should know that. just realized what an old map that is [Edited 2/21/06 22:58pm] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I am one of the unpriviledged, sadly. When I first heard he was doing a tour for Musicology I had planned to go, but then the Purple Brat decided Canada only needed like 3 shows, all of them WAY on the other side of the country. I'm still cranky. Better luck with this next tour, eh? How do you think we felt in the rest of the world !!! [Edited 2/21/06 14:37pm] About how I felt. The travel time from London to Toronto by plane isn't a whole lot more than the trip from my city out here on the westcoast to Toronto. It doesn't matter that he bothered to stop in this country if I have no way of travelling across 4 1/2 provinces to get there. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Yeah, I haven't been to a Prince concert either. Part of being Canadian, I guess.
I'll definitely see him in concert some time or another, though. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Here's hoping for stops in Vancouver and Edmonton!
Though in all honesty, luv4u, it's probably more realistic to expect a stop in Lotusland than a gig at West Ed Mall. Think P. knows there aren't too many cowboys in the fanbase. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

maybe this year??? I have seen Prince maybe 4/5 times in England first time back in '85/86 can't remember which year off-hand. Still have the ticket though !! Prince has toured the UK LOADS over the years - my next concert will be number 50 and I first saw him around the same time as you. Granted, its been a while since he last came, but he was here for ONA (which, unusually, I only went to once - hey-ho!). So the comment that "he don't come to England" isn't quite right. In fact, our American friends here will testify to the fact that they went without a tour for 6 or more years, whilst Europe (esp. the UK - he loves it here) got a P overdose! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

I am one of them. But mostly because I live up here in Finland, and even though I've several times considered going to Stockholm, Sweden for one of his past tours I've never had the chance/the money/or the tickets have been sold out.
Considered that I've actually witnessed Terence Trent D'Arby's crotch from a three-inch distance at his live gig this isn't exactly how I figured it should go when I first got interested in Prince and modern soul-rock.

This board is in danger of degenerating into a long list of people whinging about living somewhere more obscure than America/England.
Before that happens I want sympathy for having never seen the man. If you knew what I was thinking you'd be worried....

Now I really begin appreciating living in Belgium.
Nearly everything is within one hour drive. The sea, Some (low) mountains, good food, cities, the countryside, and the different concerthalls where all the great from this eart like to strike down and I forgot: if they don't want to come to Belgium, we're a 3 hours drive away from Amsterdam or Paris. Should I say, centre of the universe [Edited 2/23/06 1:03am]

We have some great concert venues here too - Zenith, and little ones downtown like Rockstore (where I saw The Time back in '97, I think it was)... I come from a land of wide-open spaces, but there's something to be said for small countries. We're close to mountains and skiing too (2-3 hours from pyrenees and alps).
