This one is for my friend and colleague, 2the9s! Suppose that, like Jesus, Prince was a carpenter and could build a spice rack or a set of bookshelves... what do you think he would charge for something like that? SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

He'd ask everyone how much they would pay...then set the price.

Oh god, I don't know. Comparing spice racks and bookshelves is a little like comparing apples and oranges, don't you think. Ummm, geez, how much does a shekel go for these days?
Gosh, Ice, you've really stumped me here. . . sorta wasn't prepared for this. Would it be work for hire?

Gosh, Ice, you've really stumped me here. . . sorta wasn't prepared for this. Would it be work for hire? For the sake of argument, let us suppose that it is a work for hire scheme... Normal prices for hand-crafted items: Spice rack = $65 Bookshelf = $200 Prince's prices for hand-crafted items: Spice rack = $??? Bookshelf = $??? Where does he stand? I'd say 50 percent mark-up...plus, being a JW, he could cut out the shipping prices by delivering door-to-door...

Well, you know it would be quality loot, so whatever he charged, I would be willing to pay more than that as long as it was exclusive; as long as I could go around and say that I am a Premium Member!

But... you have to remember that he will mass-market the product if it is popular enough... the spice racks and such will only be "exclusive" until such time as he can sucker a major label into releasing them under a one-off contract. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

Everyone has been looking for the last of his mugs for many years... alas, nobody has had any luck. I suspect that this "holy grail" was stolen by some rogue ground squirrels and taken to Tibet where it is now used to launder the undergarments of the monks... Oh, yeah... I forgot to answer this amazingly brilliant and earth-shattering question:
Normal prices for hand-crafted items: Spice rack = $65 Bookshelf = $200 Prince's prices for hand-crafted items: Spice rack = $165 Bookshelf = $423 The sad fact is that the "fams" would snap these damned things up... even if they didn't need a spice rack and couldn't read. Sad, but true. He could probably make a killing from selling locks of his hair. He wouldn't even have to put $$ or time into it.

He would charge $90,000 and he would dance for the lucky buyer as well. (Since he is a musician, he wouldn't go anywhere near woodworking tools so as to save his fingers, so he would have to contract out the building of it. That's why it would cost $90,000).

I looked all over the NPMC and couldn't find these damn items anywhere! I even looked in the premium section. As a Premium Member of the NPGMC I feel ripped off. Prince just doesn't care about us fams This is just false advertising and I intend to report him to the Bad Business Bureau and I urge you all to do the same. I suppose I'll just have to hand over my money to a bootlegger for a rickety old copy of these wonderful household items. Oh well, Prince's loss When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I spoke to some executives at Ethan Allen and they told me that Prince had contacted them to manufacture the items... it seems that he was going to claim that he had handcrafted the items. Ethan Allen refused to manufacture the items for him and said that they would never sell their items under any name other than Ethan Allen... they said that Prince bought 1000 spice racks and 1000 bookshelves "for his houses." One can only assume that he is going to sand off the Ethan Allen name and put his name there instead. We should see the products soon. SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com
