1. New World
- I chose this track as the opener of the album because I had always hated the fact that this album that Prince was born to make started off withh the dull, plodding Jam of the Year. Having an album begin with "Aah, NEEEW World!" is something only Prince could get away with anyways.

2. Right Back Here In My Arms
- This song is a perfect second song, with its intricate melodies and midtempo, but never slow pace.

3. We Gets Up
- The album needs something fast-paced after Right Back Here In My Arms and this also delivers on the funk front.

4. Somebody's Somebody
- This moody song is the perfect contrast for We Gets Up.

5. Face Down
- So far so good, but this album needs some classic Prince attitude!

6. In This Bed I Scream
- If I left this off the album it would be a crime.

7. Soul Sanctuary
- Now for some romantic lyrics and beautiful falsettos. Did you really think there would be a Prince album without that?

8. Friend, Lover, Mother, Sister/Wife
- Same response as above.

9. The Holy River
- Now for an introspective look at Prince. Great track, and it's a perfect prelude to Prince wanting a child.

10. Let's Have A Baby
- A track about having a baby seems like it has a great connection to

11. The Love We Make

I don't think Emancipation is 1. that good of a track, and 2. a horrible closer. I think The Love We Make is a better closer.

Thats unfair. You mention one excellent and one decent album there. Emancipation is poor....a let down. I often sequence one disc versions of it as I reckon you can make a killer single LP out of it, a decent double at a push.

By the way, My Computer and Jam Of The Year & In This Bed I Scream should never be left off IMO, some of the best on there.

Add Sleep Around, Joint 2 Joint, Courtin' Time, Savior and remove Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother, Wife..... but to be honest there are other tracks which I'd miss as well. To truly do this album period justice, you'd need to make a 2 disc album which removed all the superficial and cheesy songs and add a couple of the outtakes.
