Good Love & Strays Of The World

Does anyone know any further information about the songs Good Love & Strays of The World, besides what's in the Crystal Ball liner notes? I know that Good Love was in a Michael J. Fox Movie, but that's about it. Any good info (i.e songs that were recorded in the same sessions) would be nice. Thank YOu

The Crystal Ball booklet mentions that 'Strays Of The World' was originalled penned for a potential Broadway musical. This project was discussed with David Henry Hwang. Hwang undertook work for the musical project (entitled 'Come') after Prince had shared with him some songs on tape. 'Strays Of The World' was originally planned for this. Hwang was later credited for the lyrics to 'Solo', and some of his other lyrics did make it to print. I also know that the recording featured on CB was considered by Morris Hayes to have been one of the most interesting and challenging 'group' efforts in the studio that he experienced.

The period of time that is referred to in the CB notes is the latter part of 1986 after the return from the final lego fthe Parade tour in Japan.

He recorded at home in Minneapolis during the September, and then spent almost all of October, November and December in LA.

The Revolution disbandment mentioned in the notes took effect during October, and 'Good Love' was committed to tape along with other tracks for the 'Camille' shortly afterwards. Aside from the other tracks mentioned in the notes - 'Shockadelica' and 'Feel U Up' being worked on (they had both previously been recorded) - other tracks from this period include, 'If I Was Your Girlfriend', Rebirth Of The Flesh' and Rockhard In A Funky Place'.

I think I remember hearing or reading before that the songs for the musical ended up being used for that performing dance troupe that either Mayte or Carmen Electra was in for a short while...they performed at the Glam Slam clubs, and "Strays", "Loose" and "Interactive" were all part of the songs used.

Or I could have been drunk like usual..
