I don't know but somehow the beginning of Prince's and Janet's two songs remind me so of one another.. Anyone else who can hear the similarity???

I've always thought the drumbeat of Pleasure Principle and Electric Chair were very similar. Check out the bit where the drum pauses and then starts again on both...

Janet's,"What have you done for me lately", surely sounds like "Partyman". The keys on both are similar.

There's never been any evidence that Prince had anything to do with Janet's Control album. I would be surprised if Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were even that fond of Prince at the time, since indirectly he got them fired from The Time. The story is that they were off producing some other artist and missed a plane to a gig, Morris asked Prince what he should do, and Prince said 'If it was me, I'd fire them' and they were later fired.

I think they've all made up since.
