NPG STORE IN MPLS I have been to the NPG store in Uptown a few times and it was a great experience. I was able to go upstairs and see the purple rain bike, some clothes, promo shots that he circled to be used, I sat in a chair that was in his house and watched a few videos (I can really only remember one out of the four and that 18 & over). I wish it was still open. I remember there was a huge table and you could purchase any CD you wanted that part of his world (the family, Vanity or Apollonia 6, The Time) you name it, it was there. I still have a silver NPG ring from there. I also met and got the autograph from Michael Bland.
Did anyone make it to the NPG store in London before it closed? Just sharing a little info. PRIME [Edited 2/20/06 14:45pm] Prime aka The Kid

I was quite disappointed really, it only had a small rack of CDs, certainly not the wide selection I was expecting. It was far more about the candles and jewellery! It was good to see one of his yellow cloud guitars in a case on the wall up close. I remember wishing I could afford one! It was quite a small store, really.

I remember going to the store just once and not being overly impressed with the selection either. I suppose it had potential but was just never realized. The store carried similar stock to the store at Glam Slam in downtown Mpls, but in a larger space, so it actually looked like less merchandise.

I miss the NPG Store in MPLS. I made it to there once back in '95. The next time I went, it was a furniture store called "Go Home".

I totally miss that store. I suppose I didn't do much to help it as the store didn't have the best selection and things were WAY overpriced. Still, I was living blocks away from that store when it was open, so I probably went in there at least once a week until it closed. woops, that sounded real fammy ... [Edited 2/20/06 16:50pm]

Yup, whenever I was in london I'd make a point of stopping by and seeing what new tat they had in To be honest, I was far more interested in the posters they had upstairs that adorned the walls that weren't for sale (bloody typical!) Wonder if Paisley Park had that time capsule shipped back home or if it's still buried in the bowels of the shop? Anyway, in case you haven't seen them before, I dug these out and dusted them off for ya to read:

I can kick myself for not buying the under the cherry moon poster. I bought a poster of him with the blue angel and he is kicking the typhoon. I used to get some TCBY yogurt and go check out the NPG store. those were the days.... I still have some buttons, promos, catologs and some other stuff form the store. Prime aka The Kid

I went to the Minneapolis store in Uptown and also the Stand at Mall of America. I have the Symbol Clock and Jacket and Perfumes. It was cool seeing the LOVESEXY CAR and the Motorcycle and watching the videos. I have been to GO HOME. They sell Mad Furniture and Great Candles and Perfume and Glasses. Dig it.
