The atrocious editing is what kills it for me.

My favorite is the Take Me With You performance, then the Ozzy dance.

I was fortunate to be at this show. The editing made it resemble a shell of the actual gig which was over 3 hours running & included Power Fantastic, The funkiest Days of Wild on record as well as other rarities. My only guess was they didn't have enough "good footage" to give it a proper release, such a waste..

The rehearsal was funny because Prince was jamming on the orange bass to a sped up version of Xenephobia when a drunken fan went over & tried to hug him screaming "I Love You" & he replied "I think you love that drink and a little too much too.. Because of her they cut the rehearsal short.

She probably trolls this board leaving random messages for prince hoping he'll read them, Good Lawd!!

It's an ok dvd, but only cause I know a couple of the people that got on stage.
The other releases of this tour show the true energy of this show. This one makes it seem kind of dull.

I had an opportunity to go to that concert but decided to go to work instead. That night I was working as a "Sexy Elf" at the Venetian Hotel right up the street. I did go to the Musicology concert though (the first and only time I ever saw Prince live)it was the best concert I'd EVER gone to. I doubt that his performance at the Aladdin was at all comparable so I'm glad I waited.

I finnaly watched my copy of this dvd. BE WARNED, I watched it while it was playing on my PC while I puttered around my office trying put my crap up. The whole thing seemed lackluster. He seemed tired and a bit pissy. I think the performaces weren't what he is able to do. I believe I just wasted another 10 dollars.

Give it a few more viewings. It took some time to grow on me, but it did. I wasn't excited at all the first time I watched it (except for Gotta Broken Heart Again; I loved what he did with it immediately), but I'm pretty fond of it now.

Depends on what you like about Prince's music, but in general the ONA tour wipes the floor with the Musicology tour. This DVD sadly does not give it justice at all. The ONA...Live! Bos comes a little closer, IMO, but still doesn't really capture the feel of the tour.

Didn't get a chance to catch this tour live, but I loveloveLOVE the piano medley on Disc 2 of the boxset. All the people who bitch that he had lost his sense of humor and spontenaity in 2001/2002 need to pop this in and have another listen. "Adore" is classic. You can burn up my clothes, smash up my -- uh oh. Don't smash up the ride! (plays theme from Twilight Zone) giggle If you listen closely, you can hear the panties drop to the floor when he starts in about "I'll buy you a new one, baby. What kind you want?" splash!

Well, what was it that was so great about ONA??? I simply can't imagine ANY concert being better than Musicology let alone "wiping the floor with it".

Like calldapplwondery83 said, it depends on what you like. If you're partial to the hits and like a big arena show, then you'd probably prefer Musicology. If you'd prefer a smaller, more intimate show that's more experimental with Prince being weird and playing more new (at the time - TRC) music that's less well-known to the masses, then ONA seems to have provided that. Not to mention the fact that NPGMC members were allowed to attend soundchecks at some shows. But I'm guessing that you'd still prefer Musicology. Are you a fan of "The Rainbow Children"?

Nope. I probably would've enjoyed ONA if I had gone to his concerts in the 80's and 90's but since I hadn't, hearing him perform his hits live was waaaaay overdue for me.
