One has to wonder just how much longer Barney Hoskyns can possibly rehash the same old soundbites. bored I mean, with the exception of Prince's thoughts on Susan Rogers, does it really tell us anything new or revealing? Nope. Bubblegum journalism - tastes great at first, but ultimately, it's unsatisfying.

Anyway, here's the scans for all you folks outside of England,
enjoy.

i quite liked Imp of the Perverse, but it was the first Prince book i had ever read and i have only read 2 others.
£1.60 for a bloody observer.
Im ashamed to say i stole the magazine boxed
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

falloff ...GET HIM!!! mad

'Imp of The Perverse' was good for its time, but what do you think of this article? After reading it, I'm sure you can see what I mean - kinda leaves you with a shrug 'but the pictures were kinda purrty' vibe, y'know?

yeah i know what you mean. There are a couple of factual errors in there too.

I was just looking at my copy of Imp there.
It was supposed to be returned to the library on 19 Jan 1992.

im a thug.

nothing we havent already heard here, but i suppose in light of the brits and with his new album they have to drag something up for the army of new so called fans...the same folk who for years have been saying..prince?isn't he ..queer...dead...had a rib removed...done nothing since purple rain.....no i'm not bitter about the new wave of fans i am now going to have to battle against to get decent concert seats!

What annoy's me is that in these top 10 Prince albums, The Gold experience is generally left out. This is defo one of his best but hardly heard due to Warner screwing up the promotion of his album. One of those lost classics methinks

Why does Prince look so airbrushed these days ??

This is the guy that brought us raw, stripped down funk.

What with the over glossifed images ?

Is he in a beauty product advert ??

Where did the person behind "Prince" the image go?
Shut up already, damn.

the front cover actually looked a bit wrong. like he was parodying himself..the face and the pose.

the portrait was lovely.

I have the cover pic up in my office at work, and it's from Rolling Stone (I think) from about the time of Musicology. They're using some old pics and havin people believe they're current!

I think Warners is waiting 2 drop a re-release of Gold Experience, 4 sure! They'll drop it on top of a new Prince release to capitalize, like now they have the 'ultimate Prince' compilation dropping a week b4 3121! It's all a game! But this is the first time at least they are putting out some remastered long versions, that's never been done! Bravo, Prince must've aproved of the collection, I saw the tracklist and artwork on amazon and it looks great!

This list is horrible. Why do we need a list? Anybody know? Please don't tell me, if you do.

Yeha, generally uninformative, but mostly pleasant read. Remember, it's not aimed at us geeks who already know almost everything there is to know about him.

As usual, though, I think it's way over-using height references. I mean, if they were about his race or sexuality (if he were gay, say), the paper would probably be sued. i just think it's bad taste. I mean, do they write articles about John Goodman, full of references to his weight? (actually, they probably do!)

The other thing that surprised me, was the mssing space where Musicology should be. I mean, I can understand the Gold lacuna, and ignoring Rave and NPS is just what I'd like them to do, but the last bit reads sort of illogical. I think the editor's had a bit of a careless chop with thisone, basically.
