Wierd Shit !!! but a cool song

Annie Christian = Anti-Christ

But the song is 50/50 as to the biblical anti-christ.

So it seems to be a generalized "antichirst" aka, devloper of Chaos.

It is also geared toward a particular type of Fan.

John Lennon Killed by and a Jodi Foster type Fan.

I think Prince was a far off in writing this song if it about who I fear. However that's all water under the bridge.

Annie Christian is a delirious paranoid song about a woman that is supreme evil. As we know, John Lennon's murder, the Atlanta children serial killings and the Reagan shooting were all the work of men and are here attributed to a woman who's described as a psychotic murderous whore-stalker always looking for fun.

I think that, more than anything, it's a dark fantasy based on his fear of the "evil woman", which is here compared to the Anti-Christ. Who knows? Maybe he had a bad experience with a crazed groupie.

Prince's first spiritual & political song where he uses a play on words -- annie christian, anti-christ. In the Bible, the anti-christ is not only a person, but it's everywhere, in the many bad things that people do or think. And like Aerogram says, it's a delirious paranoid song where the speaker finds this spirit of anti-christ everywhere around him, and resolves to spend his life hiding in taxi cabs just to get away.

I don't know... something like that? It's always been one of my fav songs. I wish he'd update it and perform it live sometime. He could really go crazy on the guitar and turn this into some kinda punk anthem for today.
