I am currently looking at the 8th season DVD of Friends because I never jumped on the Friends bandwagen in all the 10 years they were on. I was curious in any of the episodes was there ever a Prince mention(I was watching one episode where Ross wanted to go Hard Rock Cafe and Chandler says "You just want to watch the Purple Rain display" were there any mentions of Prince any music every played on any episodes and my main questions. Have any of the 6 cast members say they were fans of Prince or has Prince said he was a fan of the show or even watched the show from time to time?

This is the most random thread I've seen in this forum in a long time.

I actually thought this thread was a breath of fresh air. After millions of, "Is Prince gay", "Who's the best guitarist", "What's his best solo", "how many instruments can he play", type threads it's nice to see something 'random'.

Well, I don't think much of anything was ever mentioned about Prince for a few reasons.

1) Friends was on during the 90's, a period of comparative decline for Prince.

2) None of the Friends characters were at all into anything remotely cool. They were a bunch of neurotic or dumb twenty/thirty somethings who rarely had jobs and could afford palatial apartments while hanging out in coffee shops.

3) The Friends lived in an alternate universe New York where Blacks, Latinos, and all other non-Caucasians didn't exist. They had to import them in later
seasons for verisimilitude.
