PrintableGirl IS indeed from the golden age of b-sides. I LOVE IT.
The summer after my freshman year of college was when ATWIAD came out, and it was one great single after another. All these colorful picture sleeves with paisley labels. Pardon the drama, but it was a super sweet time to be a Prince fan. That same summer I was at First Avenue and found myself standing RIGHT NEXT to Prince, who was wearing a bright red jumpsuit, and that Liza Minelli hairdo he sports in the Raspberry Baret video. It's the type of song that completely differentiated Prince from other artists and helped establish a very hardcore set of fans. It's not meant to be for the casual top 40 pop listener, but if you want to have a full picture of what Prince was about during the 80s, the B sides provide it.

Girl is one of the greatest songs ever recorded; just the synth melody makes me cum in colours of the rainbow. This is what I talk about when I mention his innovative side. He will never reach this pinnacle again. And, if you do not like this tune, then you have no sense, and you should quit the org and become a monk or nun. All you others say Hell Yea!! | |
