Cuz most of the time when I tell someone how much I love P, they say "blah blah blah Purple Rain blah blah blah" and I'm like "The dude's been out for almost 30 years, wrote one of the biggest hits of the 90's(continue to brag about P here)and you think all he ever came out with is Purple Rain??" "Um..yeah. Prince is a weirdo." That's my typical conversation with a non-fan. But it's gonna be all kinds of people on his dick soon, but we know who the real fans are.

This thread is about posers. I even spoke to some claiming to be a very big Prince fan yet acted like Purple Rain is the only album he made.

That's part of what made Musicology so cool. There were people who left the purple camp in the 80's or 90's and they came back. If 3121 does more of the same, then I say, "Bring em on and welcome back!"

- Yeah, you know, there was definately an upshot in Prince newbies, or reforms after Musicology -- There's been a whole host of really old newbie questions on here ever since. It's no bad thing -- A really GOOD, organised FAQ is in order for someone like Prince though who has such a huge body of work.

Not saying I wanna make it, but you know, it would come in handy for those newbie questions that crop up.

Thankfully I haven't seen a 'Purple Rain originally a double album?' threads in a long time

I'm confused. I thought this was a place to discuss Prince's music. Isn't it a GOOD thing to bring in new fans even if they haven't compiled their own compilations of every Prince CD, incorporating b-sides, remixes and outtakes, and even designed their own sleeves for the singles that SHOULD have been released? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Let's get over ourselves here. The elitist attitude that crops up on this forum from time to time just kills me.

I've been a fan since 1982; i think i'll have a celebratory badge made up in my own honor.
