Let's Go Crazy, without question.

I doubt Prince is still going to be playing Fury in 22 years time.

Not a fair comparison.
Different eras
You would be better off comparing Fury to Peach.
Give me Fury over Peach.
LGC was memorable and not an average rock track. "Dearly Beloved...." Gave it an authentic sound. Fury rocks but it isnt authentic.
(Insert something clever here)

"Fury" shouldn't be compared exactly because its a very similar tune. LGC obviously being 1st will get that nod, but Fury is great on its own merits.

? is what is going to be the next "when doves cry." I bet there will be something similar on this ablum in a dark sense. Descriptions are calling songs dark. Something to look forward to.

LGC is one of THE classic rock tracks of all time. I like Fury but i can't see that it's in the same league.

He plays lets go crazy for 22 because its the rockiest track of his most famous album, and because it was a BIG hit. Not because it´s his best rock track.

There will never be a song that can go up against LET'S GO CRAZY imho.

I feel very strongly about that 'cause that's the song that took me over the edge as far as being a dedicated fan of Prince. No one has seen the likes of me since then. biggrin

Its better than Endorphinemachine because it's telling a story and it's finally free of all that pseudo hip hop influenced posturing he decided to toy with at the time ( yes it was a "rock" track but the lyrics were only marginally less rap influnced than pussy control). In any case Fury just has a classic sound to it IMO and the less he sounds like that Kanye west nob the better! biggrin

lets go crazy drums sucks. it does not have a puch to be a cool drum track of a rock song. but the guitar riffs are more creative. I prefer fury lyrics and melodies.

Good post. I agree withcha. Although I understand the comparisons, their entirely two different songs from two entirely different era's.

Every time Let's Go Crazy starts, I always think about the opening sequence of movie Purple Rain, which pretty much converted me 100% into a hardcore Prince fan.

Everyone here older then 40 is biased (I'm 15) in favor of Fury because LGC is PLAYED OUT BIG TIME! I haven't heard Fury yet and I'm trying to avoid it so when I get the album it will be fresh (I'm doing the same with BS) but I feel LGC is very annoying in the begining.

no no its not that...LGC is a classic I would also suggest you listen to the full blown version of the song..not the edit, not the ones he plays in concert..but the full blown version which opens Purple Rain the movie or thats on the 12" Its simply and unbelievable combination of rock and funk that perhaps will never be duplicated. In fact he played a bit of it the other nights at the Brits (the funky extended part)

Fury is has more of Pop element and thats not necessarily a bad thing its just an obvious difference.

I see your point. Let's Go Crazy is a song where you had to actually be there to experience the power of the song.

Biased (with all caps) is me. Considering I was 21 when LGC grabbed me by the collar and said " You think you liked this music before, but I've got you now".
It took my breath away and still does whenever I watch the opening of the movie. The first time I saw P perform it live (right in front of me) was the icing on the top. So us 40 & over crowd do have history with this particular song and until something else comes along that can blow me away like LGC did, it will always be no.1 in my book hands down.

Way too early to say about Fury, but as of now I don't think it is even close. I will go with Let's Go Crazy.
