Fury is a Rock version of....

1999. Has anyone else noticed this. Listen to the main riff!! Its 1999!!!

it reminds me of Hurricane by Bob Dillon.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I think its really excellent hat Prince is really showcasing his guitar skills lately.
I mean that rendition of Purple Rain was probably one of the best versions i have ever heard.
It made the hairs on my neck stand up.

Fury is also an excellent example of when Prince can be bothered to tear shit up with his hohner.

You can sing Girls & Boys over it....the vocal melody isn't disimilar.

Yeah, I can hear a little "1999" in there. His guitar solo also reminds me of the live version of "Shhh" performed on the Musicology tour - same key, similar use of wammy bar and distortion etc...
