SHY Lyrics I need some help. I was debating with someone over what the words mean in the song "Shy". At first listen, it seems rather straightfoward but I think it allows room for interpretation.
I see the girl in the song as only talking big (the gang initiation) to cover for the fact that she's shy and innocent. The male in the song sees through the facade which is evident in the lines, "the girl was rough but he called her bluff..." and "fact or fiction he wondered..." The opposing view is that she really is a gang member (and a killer) but the guy recognizes some tenderness below the surface. I know it's a rather small detail but I'm kinda anal about those things:). Any further analysis from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

I always thought the lyrics in this song was something Courtney Love would write in one of her songs.

"Fact or fiction, he wondered
that's when the rain and thunder got wetter" -and at the top of the page he wrote...- you're right. and it's a perfect song, too. "Whatever skin we're in
we all need 2 b friends" | |

I think the song is purposefully unclear. 'Fact or Fiction he wondered, that's when the rain and thunder got wetter'
Fact or Fiction: This must mean that there's no way he could tell either way Rain and Thunder wetter 2 interpretations: 1.the possibility that she could be a gangsta hangs ominously in the rain and thunder getting wetter 2. He doesn't care either way cuz he's horny (hence the rain and thunder get wetter) and he'll just put at the top of the page that she's shy after they're done doing the vertical mambo! Love love LOVE this song.
I was listening to it the other day and was thinking about doing a tribute thread. I especially love the way he sings that '...and at the top of a page he wrote' line. Wonderful.
