I FINALLY saw the performance and man, Prince just continues to show his excellence on stage. He whupped London into shape Wednesday night! All of them songs he played were killer. And seeing Wendy, Lisa and Sheila was just too much for words. Everybody did the damn thang!

Prince U are still the man!!!!!
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Btw, wasn't that girl in the audience they showed for a second during "Purple Rain" Joss Stone? She was completely taken away by the performance!

Joss Stone was shown a couple of times, yeah, and she did look totally blown away! They also showed KT Tunstall though, with the dark hair, singing along to Purple Rain at one point, but she looked like she was taking the piss!! rolleyes

How cool if they had played "Mountains" off Parade LP together?

Prince with a tambourine like in the video, and the Christopher Tracey hat?

And Jerome Benton on stage doing his dancing stuff.

That would've been quite embarrassing and he'd be the joke of the evening... 1986 has come and gone...

The camera zoomed in on will the jobby jabber young and he was beaming at the performance. Kt Tunstall is in no position to take the piss out of prince, she looks like a bulldog chewin a wasp, ...Joss stone on the other hand has a pretty good voice and she has soul, her album is no great shakes tho. It was pretty cool of the dude from the flaming lips to mention that he was excited to meet prince backstage, or certainly words to that effect

What about that pissed Irish geezer from the IT crowd who said that was an amazing performance from Prince considering he was 74 years old. Then he said Prince is so small, he's sleeping in my shoe backstage. neutral

ive watched it again 8 times, the guitar was singing. to anyone saying the guitar wasnt as good as SNL, well im amazed what a whammy bar does to your impression of a good performance.

i personally dont like him using the whammy bar on the strat. it sounds like a gimmick after all these years of hearing those tasty blues/rock solos, to hear the 'saturday afternoon guitar shop geek with his favourite riff, picking up a guitar with a whammy bar' style come from all people - Prince. and i dont accept the 'we all have to move on' argument with it's endless justifications.

It was a performance to guitarists as well as the general public.

I agree, too much whammy is geeky, but plenty of great guitarists use the whammy bar tastefully as and when the moment dictates - Prince, Vai, SRV, Santana, Hendrix to name just a few. Though I know he never used to use a whammy throughout his career up until the Habibi. He played brilliantly during the brits, but I just thought the SNL version of Fury was a bit edgier and the fills more thrilling...maybe cause it was a shorter set and the debut of the song??

The response to the Brits i find interesting. Most liked it in here. I didnt. I thought doing lets go crazy and purple rain was a cop out. How old? its not 1984... makes it seem those were the only hits he had in 20 years...

rediculous.. what with a new album out and musicology just been.

as for wendy and lisa and sheila e... totally over the audience's heads. Wrong place wrong time.

And Te amo corazon??? soppy and mediocre and lackluster.. hardly awe inspiring and would make one rush out and get the lastest album..

imo he should have done 4 mins of a dayum funky and fresh Black Sweat, blow them away with some new funk (some kind of live hybrid remix as prince can only do) and left them gasping for more.

this for me was just so disappointing. no-one will remember that performance or the new song, and anyone remembering prince from years a go would be going what the f?? prince still singing purple rain? boring!

For me, uneventful, unmemorable and and as usual a waste of precious tv airtime.

wendy and lisa reunion.. fine but not at the brits. there will be no appreciation and who there really cares except a fan? pointless.

Should have stole the show with a funky live remix of black sweat.. said it before and say it again! That would have made him look interesting new and fresh. not tired and an old as been, clutching to 20 year old hits to justify appearing at the brits.

and what the hell was that robe he was wearing? for a UK crowd and some who havent seen him in years, he would look rediculous.

and hey, thats why im a prince fan after all. he does what the fuck he wants and will always be unappreciated and underrated here in the UK.

Peace out.

Anyone watching the "Brits backstage" show thats on right now , they showed a short interview with Wendy,Lisa and Sheila E , also said they werent allowed
to film Prince rehearsing ( showed everyone else though) . A few musicians there were very excited about Prince being there , and Anthony from Anthony and the Johnsons was thrilled that Wendy and Lisa were playing with him
too smile .

Also just showed some footage of Prince walking to the stage also and some backstage roadie woman almost ran right into him she was so busy lol , also
Prince talking to Jack Johnson outside his dressing room backstage , until he spots a camera filming and points it out to stop them filming razz

There is a way to save the clips from Housequake...
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Sure glad he didn’t listen to the likes of you guys!

Great performance period!

Undeniable!

If you couldn’t appreciate it like most everyone that saw this, fine.

But, lol, again...glad he’s not listening to the likes you guys, we'd have a repeat of the 90's all over again.
