AAAAAHHHHH..AAAAAHHHHH!!!!.....OH MY GOD!!!.....OOOOHHHHH MYYYY FUCKING GOOOOODDDDD!!!!!I knew I should have let that paper cut heal before cutting up a lemon!!...AAAAAHHHHH!!!
....the Brits....I've just been reading through the posts about the performance here and at HQ and I'm getting a big kick out of it even though I haven't seen the show yet (I'll be remedying that very soon...jjjoy!). Its so great to read almost unanimously positive comments from all the fans. It would be great to see Lisa, Wendy & Sheila tour with Prince again....especially if they come to Australia (probably unlikely since he was here a couple of years ago)...we never got to see the Revolution play. something different about Prince
see it in his eyes maybe Sheila's rubbing off on him it was good to see Lisa & Wendy there hopefully we see them more often if so, i'm sure he'll give them room to shine they literally spotlighted Wendy during "Purple Rain" a nice little nod her way more, more, more

I wouldn't count on it. Prince hasn't performed it with Stevie except maybe once , since it was recorded. Not counting, just hoping.

Ok, I just saw it. All I can say is.....and.....and I go further.....in addition.....thus.....!!!!!
He looked great....he sounded better than he has in years....it was a thrill to see Wendy & Lisa again and.....I may edit this out later but....yes, my eyes got a little...well....moist during the wooohoooo bit of purple rain. That little performance is an example of why, even if he releases NPS's and Raves for the rest of his career, I'll aways be there with my ticket in my hot sweaty little hand whenever he plays within 1000 miles of where I am. now....I'm going to watch it again.....and again...and.... Amazing! Why tear it to pieces in analysis? Just a great moment 2 b a longtime fan! I had got tired and bored with him per4ming PR, but this was so the right thing 2 play on this occasion and LGC was just about - let's party! which was cool. Fury holds up well (so what if the SNL per4mance was better - it still rocks) and TAC was nice 2 (very emancipation, don't u think?) "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

If you listen to the bad mix yes. But on perfect quality in 5.1, not only it is not muted but it is an absolute killer. Il n'y a pas de sentiment plus exaltant que celui d'appartenir à une nation si diverse, si libre et si douée pour le bonheur.

i thought that was an amazing performance, the audience was shellshocked and Prince was so cool he even omitted a few lines from "fury", Fucking amazing...the chicks doing air guitar at the end was a nice touch imo

I'd say the difference was down to the fact that on SNL he played his sky blue strat with whammy bar - that guitar sounds different and inspires Prince differently to the Hohner. His SNL Fury performance was more furious for sure.

Excellent. I was pleasantly surprised how good Te Amo came off live, Fury was great again. Looking forward to the album big time now. You cant predict a classic but it seems to be a big improvement on Musicology anyway.
Bit of a shame the new album isnt out on monday, I think a lot of people would of went out and bought it after that performance but there's still another 4 weeks to go. Tamar and the twins dancing was good and added a bit of energy, they didnt come across as cheesy. How sexy are the twins, you cant fault his taste in women!

Now that I have heard and seen it in all of its glory...
This was a great medley. As tired as I am of hearing PR and LGC, he injected great life into them. It was obvious that, on that particular occasion, he enjoyed playing them, thanks to the presence of W&L and Sheila. I also think Tamar makes it fun for him, though I don't particularly like her vocal style on PR. And the new songs? Te Amo Corazon may be pretty close to the studio version but works great on stage. Yes, it's "fm", "Starbuck sampler", etc. but it's not like Prince doesn't need a song with subtle sexy vocals here and there, instead of overproduced r n b à la Emancipation. Fury (as a Woman Scorned) is yet another example of Prince adjusting his c(l)ock. It's raw and poppy at the same time and a great addition to his songbook. Visually, this was one of the best TV performances, everything more subtle and nuanced. His white with pastel colour lines outfit was original enough, bringing some of the earth feel to the stage. The Princettes worked much better on that big stage than on SNL. They are like the Three Graces of Paisley Park. I wish their dancing would not be so reminescent of the Ikettes but Prince has long quoted his predecessors visually and musically, so I'll hush. I also think Wendy and Lisa should have been spotlighted more, given the momentous occasion that was. But I quibble. This was a worthy addition to Prince's collection of superb TV appearances. Now bring on the tour and the album! [Edited 2/17/06 2:57am]

anybody wondering if wendy, lisa and sheila E will come on the tour full-time?
its just occured to me, that when he didn't play any hits on SNL, the old crew weren't there, when he brings them back its a mix of hits and new songs. this 3121 tour will be exactly that, at the very least outside of america. and all inclinations are that it'll be through europe at the very least. its just something i think could very definately be happening. and we haven't heard of the time yet, and we know they're playing at his 3121 parties etc. the current band of the brits has the funk, soul, pop and rock credentials, and could be a very successful mix. the only criticism i've read of his performance was that it was possibly abit sloppy, due to the time they had to rehearse. but thinking about a full tour, noone was complaining it was too vegasy or anything some people have about prince over the last 3 or 4 years. any thoughts?

BTW, I dropped W&L a note, you know, thanking them. Had to do it.

I don't think they will join him on a full-scale tour again. And I don't think that he'd want them either. And I don't think we should expect too much of this reunion. Let's leave it at that for the moment. Now, what I would like to see, is maybe a new studio album from them together and THEN maybe a short club tour that showcases this album. But I guess it'd be hell to get tickets.

How cool if they had played "Mountains" off Parade LP together?
Prince with a tambourine like in the video, and the Christopher Tracey hat? And Jerome Benton on stage doing his dancing stuff. "Once upon a time in a land called Fantasy 17 mountains stood so high. The sea surrounded them and together they would be The only thing that ever made u cry U said the devil told u that another mountain would appear Everytime somebody broke your heart He said the sea would 1 day overflow with all your tears, And love will always leave u lonely"

Yes, they are married. Cora Coleman did play with a singer i really really like, i`ll hook you up with his albums, his name is Frank McComb (who plays a gig in London on the 26th of feb, and our asses will be on our way home. What a farce!). I have another gig with Cora from recorded in LA with some contemporary experimental r`n b trio. That one is just awesome. Cora lays down some serious hippidyhoppidy beats. Nu Soul funk beats and all. She`s the bomb. Love...thy will b done

I just saw the performance on HQ (missed it on ITV last night as I had to work). One word: KILLER! The sound quality on TV was light years better than that internet radio MP3 ripoff crap...
I'll stick to what I said before - Wendy, Lisa and Sheila didn't make a significant contribution to the performance imho - musically! (Their work could've been done by other P band members as well.) But it was nice to see them on stage together! Though I agree that those Kanye-West-spoiled kids nowadays probably don't appreciate what they saw... Anyway, the energy of the performance was amazing! As I also missed the rest of the show, was there anything that could stand up to that?

The anticipation I felt all day yesterday waiting to see this was pretty indescribable. I had listened to it on the radio and was convinced they would cut it, but I reckon the reaction to the performance may have swayed that decision the other way. Also really rare to see almost everyone agreeing that it was a great performance, it seemed to me like he was trying to fit in the energy of an entire concert into those 20 or so minutes, the passion and desire to impress seemed new to me.
BTW the performance of Fury WAS better on SNL, but it shows how far ahead Prince is of his peers that his guitar playing at the Brits has blown most people away over here!! Still not sure how it will affect album sales over here, but a few concert dates (one in Scotland please!!), more airplay for the singles and some good marketing should do the job! So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?
