Well, I don't think much of anything was ever mentioned about Prince for a few reasons. 1) Friends was on during the 90's, a period of comparative decline for Prince. 2) None of the Friends characters were at all into anything remotely cool. They were a bunch of neurotic or dumb twenty/thirty somethings who rarely had jobs and could afford palatial apartments while hanging out in coffee shops. 3) The Friends lived in an alternate universe New York where Blacks, Latinos, and all other non-Caucasians didn't exist. They had to import them in later seasons for verisimilitude. Exactly ..... Friends was strictly WHITE BREAD!!!!!

To give you a straight answer, to my knowledge, none of the cast members have ever mentioned being huge fans of Prince. Doesn't mean that they weren't, just that there hasn't been any real mention by any of them.
The two mentions already quoted on here are the only instances I can think of where Prince was referred to on the show. Out of curiousity, what sparked this question? I think that is why so many people are giving coy answers, because it seems so out of left-field. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

I never got into Friends the whole 10 years it was on except for the episode with Brad Pitt. I rented season 8 with that episode and I started watching the episodes and just now discovering it was a pretty funny show and you're right Prince was very prominent in the 90's, but since the show was humongously popular and the stars as well I just wondered aloud if any one them expressed there were a fan in real life that is. Thanks for your answer. *To the orgers above about my comment at HQ. I was referring ONLY to the ones that don't give you a straight answer when you create a tread instead folks being silly, sarcastic and being way off topic. It's something that happens every now and then on the org and when we make up a tread we do it in hopes thay you can come up with an answer that we can't solve, otherwise we wouldn't bother even creating a tread. I don't get that problem at HQ, but I do here at the org.

I had to get this straight again. When I said "cast members", I'm not talking about the characters, I'm talking about the real actors.
Was Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, Matt Leblanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer Prince fans? The real actors, not the characters. Did any of them attend the Musicology tour? Prince had alot of celebrities that attended that tour.

The majority of the orgers over there at HQ think that P is the best at everything. If u want objective discussion, that is not the place to go, at least not at the "Prince and his Music" threads... Also, I don't know of too many people who spend their day wondering whether Matt LeBlanc is a Prince fan. To each their own, I guess... My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

You mean thank goodness for Black Sweat now. Prince used to just as white bread as Friends back in the day. There used to be a time when he didn't want to be all the way black or black period. So don't act like he's been the way he's been all these years.

They liked Hootie and the Blowfish and are therefore biologically incapable of appreciating Prince. I remember a Prince reference or two.
As for the actors themselves, I think Jeniffer Aniston danced to Raspberry Beret recently but that's about it. I don't think any of them are known for being Prince fans, like say Spike Lee or Chris Rock.

So don't act like he's been the way he's been all these years. I know every stage of this dude's career including tracks like Grace and I can assure you p was on some ultra ghetto pimp ni**a shit the whole time. I know real toms and that was not his m.o.. He was on some light skin, and white trip but it wasnt like a tom, it was like a pimp. Him and all of his crew was ghetto as hell. He split more verbs, spoke more broken english than half the rappers doing it today. The white, light trip was part, his preference and socialization and part business. He has a purely Black man's perspective if you pay attention. You see him in the street w/ people like Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Larry Graham, Jerome Benton, Eddie Murphy and brothers he plays w/. That Lenny Kravitz, Terrence Trent Darby stuff was played up for business. You dont see him running w/ the cast of Friends. Is his act Blacker? Definately, but he was crazy like a fox all along. I aint never seen a tom walk like a pimp. I aint never seen a tom wear assless lace pants to pick up his awards. I aint never seen a tom write SLAVE on his face. Toms dont wear eyeliner and clear heels. He came up in Minne. There wasnt no whole lotta Black consciousness going on. The Blackest things about him are how he got a deal and ended up world reknowned. If you break down his career in terms of marketing strategy and business plan, you will see a direct correlation between decisions and bottom line. Hes Blacker than ever but he wasnt ever tomming.
