there was a man called dominic mahan who used to write the Suns showbiz coloum throughout the 90's. he would always hate on prince. The day he left, the paper interviewd him and asked him questions about his time at the paper. he said his favourite interview was with prince, he said he found him charming, intelligent amongst other things. Yet, he never wrote a positive comment about the man during his time as a writer for the paper

I sent a letter telling them they were DISRESPECTFUL of OUR HERO and also how as Long time fans we are Forgiving and Understanding of his IDIOSYNCRICITIES and QUIRKS and PRIVACY and what makes PRINCE..PRINCE.... I said that is a REASON an UNDERSTANDING we Have with being his fan/in his DOMAIN.... SPACE!How DARE they say ANYTHING about him in such a LIGHt when he is COMING to PLAY at their AWARD show. its ironic really, i hate the sun and all it stands for, clearly so do alot of people, but in fairness to them they had the scoop on prince at the brits - what is it, a month ago now?! he was asked to perform with the Pussycat Dolls (i doubt its a coincidence the lead singer was seen with the head of universal at a Tamar gig) and he said no, then they said he'd be performing with Sheila E and it turns out its true.

They've been going on about it every week for about 3 or 4 weeks now. I hate the Sun but at every point they've been there and everyone on this board has said 'Bollocks!' or the equivalent, but they've been right.

Still hate 'em though, and I hate myself for getting so wound up about that stupid fucking article!

More madness from PRINCE who, not content with the usual red carpet, has demanded a purple one from the organisers. I only hope he doesn't end up fighting MADONNA for it. It seems to be her favourite colour these days too.

There is also another piece about him on the same page featuring a picture of Prince, hidden by a hood, standing next to Paris Hilton (which looks to have been photoshopped to me)...

No mention of her being wrong yesterday, or any backlash from Prince fans, not that I expected her to do such a thing anyway.

It seems like she's more upset that someone with no "hits" in several years still commands so much respect and attention. I guess actual talent means nothing to her.

Guess what? Today she doesn't even mention him on the "Bizarre" page, apart from a single line in the main "Brits" article where she says something like "earlier Prince played a medley of his 80s hits Purple Rain and Let's Go Crazy." Cheers for that, Victoria.

Oh, and if you want a laugh, look at the Bizarre page and spot the difference between the picture of her at the top of the page to the picture of her with Madonna. Methinks Photoshop has been used somewhere...

The Sun has always had a fued with him. When it was Jam Of the Year they were printing stuff saying he had gone mad. He very publically mentioned, took the mickey, out of that statement at the aftershow and the concert if i remember.The Sun is a joke paper. Not fit for fish and chips.

Prince does think he's bigger then he really is. I remeber seeing prince walk up to this restaurant called spargo's in LA and his bodygaurds were telling everybody to stay back and don't get too close to him. Everybody knew who he was, but didn't seem to care and nobody and I mean nobody was trying to come near him. Some people were even smirking at him. Prince seemed pissed off and stormed into Spargo's. Isn't that what he wanted, nobody coming near him? this was about late 1989 or early 1990.

During the filming of under the cherry moon Francesca Annis who played Mrs. Wellington, said in an interview that Prince had security guys telling people to stay back and that nobody was trying to get near him.

I also read in a article sometime in 1987 that during filming of UTCM prince had all of these security people running checks of a hotel he was about to stay in and that these guys were acting like comandos or SWAT or someting. Well anyway the article said only two or three fans showed up outside of the hotel.
