While the song is not that bad....it is a straigt ripp-off of The Steve Miller band's "The Joker".....I don't know if you all remember that song, it came out in the 70's. Prince must have listened to it while he was recording, "Blue Light" cause it sounds just like it...down to the guitar whistle... I must say though, that what ever genre he touches, he makes a good attempt at it. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I love this song. I don't think it's a top 20 Prince song though.
I'm a big fan of that whole album. 5th favorite album of Prince's

"If you wanna feel the FUNK....then you have to know the SOUL!!!"-----(Up and Down...just like a seesaw, Back and Forth...oh girl I'm fallin)

like the song. A music group from Hawaii did a cover of it (Prince's version is better, of course)

Ok so its poor as far as a reggae track goes...I mean its not going to convert anyone to listening to Bob Marley at 10CC.
However lyrically its got some nice bits and is of a style you dont alway hear (if at all)...you get teh I lOve You songs, the I used to love you songs etc etc....but Ive never heard a 'We're on a slippery slope that needs sorting out' track Some of my fav snippets are in this song...the way it breaks right down for the "....and I'll be standing naked with nothing but a smile on". The whole album is often one I find myself rediscovering now and again...infact you've just inspired me to dig it out again

Well, you made me download The Joker, and I thank you. It's a cool song, but to compare it to Blue Light... it's not even close! They sound nothing alike. And you can say what you want about Blue Light... it's a lot more creative than The Joker, and in my opinion, much better. Blue Light is "okay". It's one of those songs that you listen to if you're too far from the remote. It also makes for some good background music if you're cooking and cleaning... or taking a shit. lol... seriously, it's cool. Average. A sweet tale... and makes you wonder what it's like to be old and horny. I can't ever imagine losing my sex drive. Indeed, I'll be 117 also... with my baby still sayin' "Not tonight". The same way she does now! LOL The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!
