Prince to Return to Saturday Night Live

Twenty-five years after his last appearance on the show, Prince is returning to Saturday Night Live.


With his latest album, 3121 slated for a March 21 release, Prince will promote the new album and it's debut single, "Te Amo Corazon," with a performance on the show on February 4.

Prince's appearance on the show that night will mark his first since 1981. Steve Martin will host.

why do Te Amo on SNL? the song didn't take off at all he should do his next single Black Sweat

Guest musicians on SNL have to perform 2 songs.

So, it's most likely gonna be "Te Amo" and "Black Sweat."

Prince has performed on SNL more recently than 1981. He performed Electric Chair in 1989.

Well it seems Te Amo is being reissued as a re-vamped cd single, so it seems this time Prince will be actually pushing it by doing it on SNL. If he does a funk track as well, it would actually be a good combination showing off his range.

oh wow, he's doing that damn te amo cortizone song...damn shame how he doesn't even give a damn about how people think of it, i mean even prince fans who aren't as seasoned as we are about prince and his music dislikes the song....i think mani put some cortizone cream in his milk while he was in the studio or something....

oh well, guess i'll just be looking forward to what color boots he have on...if he will be wearing his signature at all...

Have you ever looked at SNL? All performers do two songs. If you don't like the song turn down the volume and wait for the next performance.

Not fond of Te Amo myself, but has grown to like it. Who knows, it may sound better when he sings it live!!

I don't think this necessarily means he'll be performing "Te Amo." Remember, it was called "the first A/V" from 3121...not SINGLE. I would bet that with those other two singles coming out the week before his appearance ("Black Sweat" and "Beatiful Loved & Blessed") that those will be the songs performed on SNL.

In typical Prince fashion, he managed to confuse EVERYONE in the media by releasing "Te Amo" when he did...and calling it an "A/V" and not a single. I think this is just another confused media soul.

If he does "Te Amo Corazon'", what makes U all think he won't cut into a fierce, uptempo musica latina Santana-esque jam at the end, with Sheila E setting her timbales on fire, and Prince tearing up his guitar?
