My guess is "clean" merely refers to the lenght of the track, meaning that the song is not long enough to make you all sweaty and dirty just yet. The album version will simply be the full version, not really 'dirty'. I don't thinkm we'll ever hear him say 'ass' at all.

He says ass in U Make Mine Sunshine. Does anyone know when that was released?

Hmmm 2001. Wasn't he a Jehovah's Witness at this time?

I have NEVER understood the idea that Prince in some way stopped being sexual in his music/lyrics.

Hell, Prince is quite sexual on the album "The Rainbow Children".

"If u desire I'll shed my attire
Anything 2 get u wet.

Shower, my flower?
So much 2 do, so little time
So choose wisely and u can find thee
In the Mellow of my mind

Can I sing 2 u while u bring urself 2 joy?
I'll go slow at first, while u quench ur thirst
Wet circles round the toy
While u bring urself 2 joy...."

Co-sign. For me suggestive is a lot sexier than explicit anyways.

it's been a long time since he's said "hell", too. JWs don't believe hell exists. I think something's up.

Well, I guess putting the words "Edit" behind the single release was a huge hint at the song being longer on the record, don't you think?

Interesting, if that point is true. Strictly speaking, Isn't 'Rock' music itself supposed to be a frowned upon too within the JW's?

I seem to remember reading that in an old watchtower in the late eighties.

'Fury' certainly rocks hard.

Yes. I was referring to the conjecture that the longer version would have "explicit" lyrics.

honestly, some of favorite and least favorite Prince jams have been vulgar...

it depends on the song, "P Control," for example is gloriously and unrepentantly explicit while "Tell Me How U Want 2 B Done" avoids the word "ass"...

Uh, NO on both counts.
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" is just an exression, nothing more.
As far as JWs not being allowed to rock, uh...well, right now I get up on stage and break that so-called rule every Thursday night.

According to Wikipedia The album version of Black Sweat might be longer and have explicit lyrics. Also that there will be a clean and explicit version of 3221. You have to keep in mind that anyone can add or take away anything on Wikipedia.

Yes. I agree wholeheartedly. He hasn't toned down the sex thing, he's just gotten more tasteful in his descriptions of it. So he doesn't say "fuck" any more? Big deal. He's still quite sexual.

Off the top of my head, here are just a few of the songs where Prince makes reference to sex (all of these have been released since he's been studying with the JWs):

Sex Me, Sex Me Not
Glasscutter
On The Couch
Illusion, Coma, Pimp & Circumstance
Madrid 2 Chicago
When I Lay My Hands On U
Daisy Chain
Here On Earth
Mellow
Supercute
Call My Name
Black Sweat

I'm sure there are plenty of others. Those are the only ones that spring to mind. Everyone assumes since he joined a religious denomination that he suddenly became a monk.

what i've always loved about Prince is that he, in the words of Kevin Smith, has one foot in the spiritual and one foot in the sexual.

he can still be sexual without being explicit, was my original point.
