Nothing can kill the spirit. Prince's music and legacy will live forever. Hopefully his body will hang around for a long time too, Here on Earth. yes guitar rainbow

Yea, I agree with most of the thoughts that I have read from you all - I would make sure to attend his funeral and it would be the first time I would attend someones funeral that I didn't know cause he means that much to me and has been such a part of my life.

I also appreciate the poster that said something to the effect that he was a part of me even without knowing him because of the impact of his music. That was beautiful.

I love knowing that there are other people out there like me!

Like many of you have already said, I used to think about this A LOT.

I know that this will hit me like a truck. I recall the way I felt when Luther Vandross passed away. My "breakdown" around that was all out of proportion. I don't have very many of his albums, or been to any of his concerts, but he just seemed like such a nice person. that you just knew him. and his music was a soundtrack to my youth in so many ways. You just thought he would always be around.

And with Prince...

oh my goodness.. he helped form who I am as a PERSON, the way i think about love and spiritiuality (pre-JW)...the way that i matured.....i have no words.. though saviourfaire has gotten as close as i could if i did..

it makes me realize how glad i am that the org exists.. and it seems that some of you have even become friends on and off the board... i hope to do the same... reach out to me, y'all.. you're my people... i don't want to wait for a tragedy and lament that i don't have anyone to grieve with who would really understand...
Come here, babe.. yeah...

its not something I like to think about, he is ten years older than me, so he could go before me, hes been like an older brother since I was fifteen, when I got a chance of a lifetime to speak to him I said, "whats up brotha?", it would be a very sad day like losing a close friend or family member, P keeps himself very healthy and does not do stupid things, our little man will be with us for awhile biggrin

For some reason, I've always imagined Prince passing at a very old age of natural causes. He just seems, somehow, invincible. I can't imagine him getting into a car/airplane accident, or having some fatal disease at a young age. He seems too ethereal.

But if he passes on before I do, I know that all my family and friends would be calling me because they know what a fan I am. I will have to act like I don't care around my husband. If he knew I was truly upset over it, he would think I'm a nut, and probably get mad.

I'm sure Prince is more organized than other musicians (like Jimi Hendrix), and probably has had some sort of will in place for a while. I wonder what he wants done with his unreleased music. His star is one that would shine for a long time after his passing, and I believe that he would truly achieve icon status at that point.

I really can relate 2 what Savoirfaire and Pepper7 say.
And though a lot of us know it's strange we love this man,we never met,
he means so much 2 us.
He's been part of my life 4 more than 20 years now, longer than a lot of
people,from who I thought I would know 4ever.

I think Purple Rain would be re-released as a single and it wouldbe played
a lot and once again some people would think that's all Prince is about,
I sure hope they don't just focus on that period.

But I think he will live longer than most of us,I'm 10 years younger but
I think he lives a more healthy live than most of us.

I'll be sad but I know we'll have "new" music for years to come after his death. If Notorious B.I.G. is still releasing material I'm sure Prince has more stored away than Biggie did.
Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

I was just reading another post about a producer that just past away....It made me think about something that has crossed my mind a few times over the years...What will i feel on the day that i hear Prince has passsed away ???? I know i could go before he does...But assuming i dont...I think I am gonna be SO Deeply hurt...strange to say but, It will touch me more than the passing of anyone other than my closest friends and family...This may sound morbid but im sure with the amount of people that visit this site and others daily there must be some folks that have wondered silently to themselves "what would i do ..or feel..If there were no more prince appearances to look forward to ?...or no more new music ?..what if i never again saw that pimp strut ? ...or some new badass suit ?...or hairstyle ?...or hear that divine funky guitar playing ever again..???" Its strange...a big chunk of who i am was formed by this man....and im sure he is like family to many of us...sorry for the rant...just thinkin on a computer keyboard...

I'd be probably just as fucked up as the day I heard Frank Zappa died, which to me signaled the death of music, Prince is just one of the last straws I cling to in regards to music...

and btw in polite society we do not lightly discuss the death of those people in our lives. IF and WHEN this happens it would be appropriate to have this thread around. BUT prince is alive and so this thread is just plain tacky

You confused the org (home of the "who is Prince fucking now?" threads) with polite society. giggle

Now, back to drawing up my plans for what to do when XxAxX kicks it.

1. Remove fingerprints...

your an censored for not realizing that only an censored would bother writing his negative opinions about a thread he has no interest in eek ...
one where many people are expressing their deep emotions .. feelings and love for prince...(ON A PRINCE FAN SITE) !!!!!
only a censored would take time out of his day to let people that are expressing themselves in a positive way know that they
are on a kindergarten level of intellect... finger

Don't worry, Prince will not die.

If he did nothing more at this point, he'd live to be 122 years old with his petite physique and his extremely healthy ways. But he is loaded and still young at a time where medecine is set for same major breakthroughs. By the time, Prince will be 70 (and looking no older than 45 year old), he'll take some treatment that will prolong his life for another 40 years on top of the 122 years he would be expected to live. And by the time he's in his mid-140's, he'll probably have another treatment and so on until he finally decides to die out of sheer boredom.

Ask not what you will do when Prince dies but what Prince will do when you die.

bui still think it's undipsuted that for anyone who actually know prince as a person, loggin on to the ORG and seeing casual threads discussing his death are really kinda gross
