Did anyone stop at the wrecka stow today & buy the new singles? Did anyone buy the singles today (not online)? I'm presuming there are no b-sides for either b/c on NPG only Black Sweat (song & vid) + Beautiful Loved & Blessed (song) are available for download. I meant to stop at the wrecka stow after work...but I totally forgot!
Also, I heard there is going to be 12" vinyl releases of both songs as well. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I didn't stop at the record store today because I had a feeling that nothing would be there. This ain't like the old days when a Prince single or album is set to be released and it's definately in all the record stores as promised. If it's some bullshit current artist, their music will definately be there, but when it comes to Prince these days, it seems like you have to search the city to find it.
I called the record store which is up the street from my house (a large local owned chain) and they didn't have it and acted like they had absolutely no knowledge of it. That figures. It's definately not like the old days when they were the first to get anything by Prince. "Best Buy" is the place that I saw the first single but I don't want to go there unless I have to. It's further away and the parking is horrible. I figured I'd check the org first and see if it's in any stores before I make a wasted trip. So far, I've haven't seen from anyone about it being in stores. If it's going to be an internet download only, Prince can forget about me. . . [Edited 2/7/06 23:32pm] Andy is a four letter word.

I wonder if I will find it in the store this weekend,

The singles are only available on download today. The physical singles won't be released til 2/21, according to my local Tower Records people.

There are no wrecka stows "'round here" that'll be carrying a copy of the singles, trust me!
I'll have to wait till I can drive 30 minutes away to Borders to get it!

Then why are there two seperate cds (see the artwork thread)--were those just the promo copies? The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. Me----> Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up...I thought 2/7 was the magic day for both online & record store releases. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. Why on earth would the "physical" singles not be in the store til March 7? When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Yeah , i find that strange too , less chance of making a hit i would think

Does anyone know if the 12 Inch vinyl is an extended version? Then again, where can you find new vinyl these days? I've seen very little in stores and it's never any good music so you know they're not going to carry Prince....at least in my area. Andy is a four letter word.

By the time they are released the buzz will be over! Exactly...that's why I thought Feb 7 made more sense, that and the fact they were available for download that day AND the Te Amo single was available for purchase a week or two after its television/radio premiere. (And on 2/14 we get another Te Amo, but still no BS & BLB...) The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

serpan said B.S. was 3:30. That's a little longer, but hardly extended. I think he also said that BLB was over 5 minutes.

By the time they are released the buzz will be over! ----- P is not doing the marketing for this record. Universal is and the music industry is pushing downloads not CD's. Some of you need to invest in an IPOD.

Besides, maybe some people don't have enough disposable income to buy an iPod. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. Thank you for that brilliant suggestion...because I really hadn't thought of waiting for the CD to be available at the record store. (Why do you think I started this thread? I knew the singles would be released on CD in the record store before the album drops.) ...and sooner or later you will have to go buy an IPOD or similar device to listen to music.
I highly doubt CDs are going to become obsolete therefore I don't HAVE to buy an iPod. (Furthermore, I already downloaded both songs so I could just burn them to CD and listen that way...but like I said--I don't want just the download, I want a tangible CD with liner notes, etc.) The check. I am not sure they are going to put out single CD's for BS. When I go to my local CD shops I see very few CD singles. I really think the industry is moving to downloads and CD's will disapper or the industry will produce fewer of them. Nobody believed records would go away but they did.
