I was so xcited 2 hear black sweat being played on radio earlier 2day.But my xcitement turned 2 disapointment when the radio djs at 95.5 started taking calls
on rather u liked it or hated out of 10 calls only one person liked it and the djs laffed and said it would never be played again!Iam so sick of prince haters if it was some other artist they would love it black sweat is the jam! only because its Prince! I remember one time Radio dj Mojo told me he used 2 take alot of flak 4 playn Prince! ....all the purple people here in detroit call 95.5 at (313) 298-9595 and tell them 2 play black sweat 4 everybody in the motorcity and if they dont they can kis our purple ass!

I'm not gonna front. I fucking love the song. Prince was doing sounds like that way before the Neptunes and who ever and what not. Listen to Extra Loveable, and that fierce robotic-synth-electro guitar laced sound. Prince is the fucking originator so I don't think that it's him sound like anyone else, but rather everyone else copying him. I remember when Timberlake's song "Like I Love YOu" came out, Pharrell was on t.v. saying how it sounds like something that Prince would come up with at a jam session. No, not really.

so? it's a damned song, it ain't like folks are dissing one of your relatives or something...

C'mon lets not kid ourselves, there is no bias against Prince, there are a tons of people in radio and the music biz, not to mention the fans who would love for him to have a big hit.

With all the new media avenues the internet has opened up, even obscure new underground bands with a truly great new song will be heard.
Truth of the matter is, Prince's music hasn’t been all that special lately.
There would be no way suppress anything great from such a legend, music critics around the world would be praising him and bringing him to the attention of its readers, and clubs and radio stations would be playing him, even his most esoteric music would find its target.(prince.org)
And I don’t think Black Sweat is meant to be esoteric, it was meant for the masses.

And likewise, when he puts out a great performance like he did on SNL, people stand up and take notice, i havent heard anything but praise from from all over the net, including people who say they're not really Prince fans.
