Can anyone tell me about One Song

I just downloaded One Song from WinMX and was wondering what the background behind the song is, as it's a fantastic track. Thanks Y'all

Oh, I've downloaded much more than one song.

There's literally thousands on winmx. :/
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Did you also download the long speech before the song?

Anyways...the speech and the song were posted on the old L4OA on January 1, 2000. I guess it was Prince's idea of what the new millenium should be.

With One Song, I think people who have questions about The Rainbow Children can get some answers. To me it was just his interpretation of how, the world worships man, and shouldn't. We should all be worshipping God. No 'One' human being is greater nor equal to God. He also streses that we are all 'One' with God, being that he/she created us, we are the "Children" (TRC)

"I am the universe, the sun, the moon, and the sea...I am the universe and the universe is me, I am the 'One Song'...

The message isn't offensive, or harmful, but as we know, I'm absolutely positive that there's somebody on this very site, that will or already has; torn it apart.

Beautiful song overall, positive message.

Did anyone manage to save the graphical half of "One Song." I remember it having some rather lamish/coolish flashes of the lyrics and such when you played it in your Real Player... I somehow lost the "video" that went with this tune.

the video was made available for download in the first year of the NPGMC, and it ranks right up there with the video for I Wanna Be Your Lover.

I loved the One Song so much!To me it says all the good and glorious things come from God.He is all awe inspiring and powerful. We can see this by his wonderful creations around us and in ourselves as his creation.Rulership needs to go back to God or things will continue to deteriorate. With God we will be as beautiful as the awesome Universe. We all come from the same place as the same life form but it is we who have created differences among us and so it is us who can change it back to Our God's original purpose
