Just wanted to point this out. yup I know the feeling. I always hate it when I have to defend myself why I'm into prince's music. Damn straight,people always laugh when I say Prince and it's pissing me right off at the mo. I don't care - the assless pants and Lovesexy cover are no excuse for laughing. I think Michael Jackson had some weirder looks and actions, but no-one bats an eyelid when you give him as one of your fave musicians. Gah! i remember trying to find Prince sites when I first discovered the net in 93 or 94. He'd just changed his name to the symbol and "TAFKAP" or "The Artist" weren't established alternative names at that stage so it was a pain in the arse trying to figure out what to type into a search engine (good old webcrawler back then - none of this google rubbish). I remember I'd type in "Prince" and have to sift through a thousand links to sites about fucking Prince Edward Island - I've hated that place ever since....whereever the hell it is! In the end I used to regularly check out "0(+>" alt.news sites ( which were always full posts saying Prince had just been killed in a car accidnet) and the Hammer's artist page....don't know if its still running. Ah the old days *sniff*. Discovered the org in around 2001/2002 but my hard drive eventually died and I couldn't remember my password. I rejoined in 2003 when the little guy was going to tour here (Australia) to get the latest info.

yeah you can not get much eailer than that. i do not think netscape was even made public until 94 or 95. i had mosic and there was not much out there. there was AMP and the PML but not much 'web' based as it is know today. | |

personaly i doubt the "fandom" of the person that calims to love or like everything he has done MUCH more that the person that likes love most of his songs. lets face it...his music is so diverse that there is bound to be a few songs any person will just not like. i would bet that there are songs even prince knows are not that good. (he said as much in regards to some of "C and D.")
that is not to say that there is not something in every song a person might like.. just not each song as a whole. | |
