My Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic

Hey guys, I've been an orger for quite a while, but i usually lurk and read. Anyway, here is my first post....With all the new Prince fervor going on, I went back and started looking through my collection which of course inevitably took me back to my first (non-hits) Prince cd I bought. This may suprise many of you, but for me, it was Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic. When I first got it, I remember working quite hard to get into the album. I loved moments of songs and certain things but remember thinking the album was a programming mess, but with some smart changes it could be a great listen through album. Anyway, I shelved this album and hardly gave it any airplay or spins. However, I finally got myself a copy of the remix version Rave In2. And I finally figured out how to make the changes to make my ultimate version of this album. So, for the fun of it. I am posting the track listing for my ultimate version of Rave. The mix I used made the album more funky I think and it highlights some great pieces of guitar work.

Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic
Mike's Mix-
1. Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic - original album version
2. Undisputed - moneyopolis remix (this track is funky hot)
3. Tgres - Adam and Eve Remix from the cd single (the guitar work at the end of this song just blows me away it elevates this song to a higher level)
4. Hot Wit U - nasty girl remix (not a great track still, but nasty girl elevates this from the bland funk of the original)
5. Tangerine - Extended (always was a great track even when it was short, but the added 45 seconds of guitar blow my mind)
6. So Far, So Pleased - original version (programmed with alot more guitar around it, it doesnt sound so out of place I think)
7. The Sun, The Moon and Stars - original version
8. String Seque 2 Man O War - must have strings
9. Man O War - original (Have to have the original track, its beautiful, and the guitar at the end of the song is blazingly hot)
10. Baby Knows - extended version (always loved this song and with a few more seconds of groovy playing out at the end this song flies higher. I know this isn't a favorite of many long timers but I love the simplicity of this bluesy rocker. Plus the lyrics are fun to me.)
11. Love U, But Don't Trust U Anymore - Hauntingly beautiful
12. Beautiful Strange - (I love this added track on Rave In2 why wasn't this on Rave Un2?)
13. Silly Game - original version
14. Strange But True - (what a gem of a classic prince song, when I first got rave I only had the hits/b-sides and thought prince was washed up in the late nineties, however when i heard this song I knew this was classic prince. Why wasn't this song on rave In2?)
15. Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do - original version (classic prince rocker, simple derivative, but that's why I love it)
16. Pretty Man - original version (when I first heard this song it blew my mind. I knew it would predict a bit of Prince's future direction (ala the work) But this track was so loose and funky and Maceo was just plain hot.)

Anyway, folks. I submit this to you all. Tell me what you all think of my track listing for my Ultimate Rave album.

Would be my choices, too! I would kick Silly Game altogether, though.
And I agree about Baby Knows!

Great but why not the extended version of Pretty Man? Much more fun.
