In This Bed I Scream - The Wendy & Lisa connection... As we all know, the above song was semi-secretly dedicated to W&L&S by Prince. When Wendy found out during an interview she was surprised because Prince had previously sent them the song, asked for their input, and then they never heard back from him again.
Here's where my curiosity starts - Wendy said they gave Prince suggestions on what to do with the song but I've seen no confirmation on if Prince took their advice and made any changes, so did he? Is the song that appears on Emancipation still in the form it was as he sent it to them or was it changed? Thanks.

My recollection is that, upon receiving the song, they thanked Prince but advised him that they didn't think there was anything they could usefully contribute to the song.

In the interview I'm thinking of, Wendy stated that they sent back the tape with their ideas and then never heard from him again... I can't recall which interview at the moment but I assume it must have been from the time of their Girl Bros release.

I thought that song was regarding the relationship with Prince and Wendy&Lisa. It's basically an apology by Prince over his treatment of W&L.
Maybe he sent it to them asking for their input (i.e. what do you think about the message in the song, can you forgive me etc.) and they mistook it for, can you give me some feedback musically. When they replied with "we cannot contribute" he took it the wrong way and decided not to pursue it. Thats my humble opinion!! [Edited 2/10/06 6:59am]
