Loved the 1st performance...was really feelin' the "old Prince" vibe ...couldnt get Tamar and the others doing the Tina Turner thing in the back but they were cute I guess at the end of the 2nd song which she led. I think she can sing, couldnt see everything too clearly cuz my cable's out but she seemed real looking and I liked the dress. Thought Prince's 1st suit's color was yummy &

First song: I am starting to feel Fury and love the performance and the outfit.
Second song: I like Tamar and the dancers. The performance is great. THe moment was when she and Prince hug. She maybe average to me but at the same time she is the best protege since Jill Jones. Prince and Tamar have chemistry. It been the most exciting week I have in a longtime and this is just begin. Prince seemed like relaxed and enjoying himself. And he looks good now than he had in the 80s and 90s, imho. I hope Prince keep on with this awesome trend starting from 2006 to beyond!!

Both songs were fun to hear and Fury may be his best rock song in a while. The dancers almost ruin his stage act with their corny unisson moves. I guess they are an pg-rated version of Vanity 6, but it doesn't work.

The Prince skit was hilarious for one reason - The theme song to the show! LOL! Dude even sounded like Prince when he was singing the theme song - HILARIOUS! Even the Feaux-Prince song sounded like a Prince song "Everybody wants 2 b free....Under the rainbow tree!" - Ya GOTTA love that shit! "Free yo mind and yo ass will follow" - George Clinton

Prince.Org Community -- I don't know. I think we are going to be in for a "killer" album. Each song released/promoted up to this point are all in various styles displaying Prince's range, versality, and ability to merge diverse styles into a cohesive whole as only he can. You all have commented on the perfomances and it was a good performance - a very good performance. BS, BL&B, and Fury -- I just cannot wait until this album comes out because it is as good as purchased by me (and I haven't bought an album/cd in years - unless it was a classic reissue). I think we're going to see a SOTT type album (WITH REGARDS TO RANGE). He is going to be all over the map, merging various styles, and giving us all a lesson in musicology! Prince never went anywhere, but let's just say he is stronger than he has been in a long time (imo) with this new material. Bring back the funky keys!

true fury too me a bit longer to grow than black sweat but still i loving the song. I cant wait to hear the studio verson. Same here. "Fury" is one of those Prince songs that grow on me with each listen. "Black Sweat" caught my ear immediately. Actually, when I heard it for the first time last night, I was pissed while I was listening to it because he wasn't performing "Black Sweat" as the first song and I was expecting the second song to be that dull first single. The thoughts going through my mind at the time were "I stayed home to watch 'Black Sweat' and now he's going to do that dull first single next. My night has been wasted, I should have gone out". I stuck around just in case and was even more pissed later when the second song was with his new protegee which I found extremly dull and turned off the TV and VCR in the middle of the performance. I've rewound the tape this morning and listened to "Fury" some more now that the anger is gone. It's a "grower" song. Andy is a four letter word.

Okay, I've gotta stand up for the backing vocalists. I loved them *and* their dancing. It felt very 70s Rock & Roll to have three hot black women supporting a song like "Fury." 'Twas all good to me!

FURY ROCKS!!!!! Maybe I watched a different show than Ya'll did.. but I was NOT impressed.. I have been following Prince almost every since he came out back in 79... and I have NEVER really heard his voice sound the way it did.. especially during Fury.. It just had a "different" sound to it. Maybe he was a bit tired from all those shows on Thursday and Friday.. but he seemed rather Bored to me! He looked GREAT.. that I will give you.. but seeing those women on stage just made me miss the Sexy Mayte even more... They distracted from the performance.. I THOUGHT After The first Single.. I was totally excited for the new CD to come out.. but after hearing "Fury" and "Black Sweat" I am alittle less thrilled. I am taking it that the last song he did on SNL will be on the girls new CD??? I was SO pumped for a KICK ASS Prince performance.. but OH WELL. This kinda reminds me of when he was with Larry G. all the time.... You just were not happy about someone else getting some lime lite. Just MY opinion.. and I am SURE that most of you will disagree.. but just wanted to have MY say Peace..

Peace, David I'm like you. It is purely intentional. Just to give this great 70s feel. Fury is an absolute killer. Il n'y a pas de sentiment plus exaltant que celui d'appartenir à une nation si diverse, si libre et si douée pour le bonheur.

All due respect to Orion . . .
I've been watching Prince TV performances since Purple Rain. It is hard to have any recapture the feelings I had when he did SOTT/Play ITS on the '87 MTV awards. endorphinmachine at the VH-1 Image Awards in '95 came close. But I'm here to tell ya . . . man he was in great form last nite. Didn't see the 2d set but that damn "Fury" was ON. 'Black Sweat" has a hot lil' groove to it. Based on what I heard over the weekend, this album is gonna be better and edgier than Musicology (a fairly good album in its own right). Too many years have gone by to compare him to his past. Let's try to accept his brilliance now, such as it is, where it shows itself. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Even my husband, who can't stand Prince, said, "Wow, that was really good!" upon the ending of "Fury". Reminded me a bit of "Whole Lotta Love" from the Musicology Tour. I loved it. I truly do like BL&B, but Tamar's vocals were a bit louder than P's and that was a bit of a let down. Still, I had a grand time watching him and can't wait for March 21st!!!!! I taped the show and watched it for the first time this afternoon. I loved "Fury". I was in amazement of Prince's guitar playing throughout that song. If this is what the new album is gonna sound like then it will definitely be better than 'Musicology'. The second song I thought was just okay. I enjoyed Tamar more at the live show on Thursday.
I thought the skits for the most part were not funny. It reminded me why I never watch SNL.

Okay...I used to be a fan of SNL. But now I see why I haven't watched it in ages. IT'S NOT FUNNY. I was wincing during many of the skits. With all these commercials with monkeys nowadays, I'm inclined to believe that they are writing skits for SNL as well.
Prince picked a good show, because he was by far the highlight. People will remember this if only because the rest of the show was bunk. The songs were JAMMING. Tamar is FINE. I don't see what the fuss is about her; I saw her in SF, great show. I mean, she's sharing a stage with Prince. That's like one of us trying to get the audience's attention during the State of the Union address. So in that regard, she has held her own both times. Maybe Prince wanted to highlight her voice, hence her mix was a little louder. But I ask again...WTF is going on at SNL? This one compared to previous early Martin hostings...was crap. maybe my expectations are just too high..... but the whole SNL thing was pretty dissapointing.
I was at Thrusday's show in NYC and it is always better to see him live, but last night was just "mehhh". Fury...yeah it could grow on you. Yeah the guitar solos were good, but it was not a particularly interesting performance. BLB was all right. nothing special. And the lack of a cameo during Prince show was just such a wasted oppty. Not to mention that the rest of the SNL show as one of hte worst i've seen and probably the show should be cancelled. Yes it's exciting to see P on television, but I find it surprising people on here are like "Wow that was so great!" etc. In relative terms, for Prince, it was pretty average EDITED TO ADD: Actually, the best part of the ENTIRE SHOW, meaning the whole thing, skits included, was Prince's faces and reaction at the end when they realized the camera was live. He clearly has a GREAT sense of humour, just by those 3 seconds, so the fact they didn't use him in the skit is all the more sad. [Edited 2/5/06 12:40pm]

Okay, why is everyone being a fam today? Doesn't anyone have any other opinion other than gushing over him, jeez? Why am I the only one that has a problem with the BAND being pushed way into the background so the attention can be on these Destiny Child wannabees? Where's the bloody horn section? Was there even a drummer on stage, cause I couldn't see him or her? Does this Tamar person play an instrument,if not,why not get a girl in the band,to showcase up front like that who can play a guitar as well as sing and look pretty? And are these the same people who played with him on the Image Awards,if not, where did they go?
