Sounds totally like a has-been to me. It's always the same old James Brown hook (Black Sweat/Cold Sweat...com'on), the kind of stuff my grand mother was listening. The girl in the video even dance that way.
Kids will prefer 50cent or Justin and you know what, i think they're right .

Look, the kids will love this song. The radio stations need to play it first and then announce to the audience that it's Prince. Imagine the shock and surprise from the audience! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

that part was super-hot to me... That girl is sexy as H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks. Same goes for the DJ. Both them women fine! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

The song is funky, and the video is tight. Reminds me of what he was doing 20 years ago. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Funky dancin' lady. Yow.
The song is bound to be want P needs to remind the world he still exists. As equality grows, violence declines.

Personally I loved the artistic black and white theme of the video. He took away from the serious vibe by being playful and comfortable with the woman in the video. He finally found his thing again. Every ten years or so I feel that we all get lost sometimes it lasts ten days, sometimes ten years. And I know he totally found his comfort zone again you can tell in the video.

Sorry, I'm just now seeing the video for the first time, cuz my computer couldn't do okay player. But now that I have seen it and am listening to it:
It does seem like a song that was recorded for the NPGMC days, and possibly recorded at the same time/same vein as Silicon. Here's how it be: itbe-fonkay-likewenoit. The video is a trip for me to see, and it seems like the point is that Prince can hardly contain his desire to "work up a black sweat" but is holding on as hard as he can to let the fonkay li'l chick do the work. I think the song works better without the video, but in these days, it seems a necessary evil.

Brotha looks good. Real good. I've had this video on constant replay for 3 days now. It's all about his pretty face. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Did anyone else find the audio quality of the NPGMC download to be really poor, especially when compared to "Beautiful Loved and Blessed"? It sounds very downsampled in comparison and has a lot of hiss in the background (the kind of stuff you used to hear on cassette tapes). Yes, there are some pops when he says "1,2,3" too. I'm waiting for the iTunes version and ultimately the cd so that I can pump it!

Yes, there are some pops when he says "1,2,3" too. I'm waiting for the iTunes version and ultimately the cd so that I can pump it! Those pops were actually fixed and you can re-download the song now. The rest of the quality is still shiiiite tho'. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

Black Sweat sounds like a bootleg in comparison. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

We'd have to wait for the album to be sure, but it might be the sound of BS is intentionally "raw" (especially the hihats). RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
