Prince vs Europa

There was a time (mid to late 80s) when Prince seemed to favour playing live in Europe. Now he hasn't been close to my parts of Europe (nothern part) for 10 years. Any rumours if he'll come to these shores again?

Difficult I guess with no record company backing him, but he welcome to sleep on my floor anytime...

Dunno when or even if he comes to Europe, but he played Stockholm and Copenhagen in 1998.

Prince will never come to Europe full of atheists who don't give a damn about his religious beliefs... I read somewhere on prince.org that during a Celebration concert he divided the fans into U.S. and non-U.S. groups and when asked each group about their belief in God, very few hands went up from the non-U.S. group (which , I believe consisted in majority of Europeans)... so forget it

unless the good EURO (and other Europeans currencies) brings him here... but that I doubt, can't imagine people here will pay $125 (around EURO 125) for a concert... although I would smile

What that report didn't say was that all those who did not raise their hands were taken into the love4oneanother room and made to wear hessian sack garments, and whipped with a cat 'o' nine tails. Heathens!

wink

Chill out agarze, Prince has been here before and we are very enthusiastic as an audience. Okay so we are a little reserved/non-committed when it comes to our willingness to shout "I believe!" from the rooftops but we DO give a damn about Prince and his beliefs, even if we don't share them.

Let's just wait and see what happens tour-wise. It still says on the NPGMC tour page that Prince will take the funk world wide in 2002.

My kind of topic!

Yeah Prince really needs to come to Europe soon. It´s already 4 years ago and Europe has always been really good for him as most of his hardcore fans are from Europe.

And we have a promise from NPGMC that members have advantage to concert tickets, so the European fams have no use of that.

Hopefully he will come to Europe soon cause I don´t have the money to travel to the US to see him.

The last time I saw him playing live was indeed in '98 (cologne). Hope he'll come back soon, I'm sure he'll have his audience, especially in a smaller club-tour with the ona-material...

I was listening to the Buffalo soundcheck boot and someone asked Prince if he was planning on coming to Europe. He answered something to the effect that it was in the works, but the offer he had didn't pay him enough money so he had made a counter-offer.

So I guess this means that if the right promotor does not come to bat with enough money Prince isn't going to go to Europe.
