I think the song is good, a little generic, but I like the feel. It's a happy song.
The last minute though is slammin! You want that last minute of funk to last forever. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

okay, i'm gonna all assume you agree with my last post above since no one replied to it (well, there was one response, but then it was edited, leaving nothing)
thanx for posting the lyrics, dansa (and boris) -- i must take offense to Prince's use of the phrase "take this bitter cup from me" in this context -- it makes light of all Jesus went through when He said these words Himself... but that's really nothing new for Prince -- to take words full of spiritual meaning and reduce them to a physical relationship -- i guess he really is back to his old self (Ephesians 4:21-24)

The song sounds HOT on a loud sound system. They played it before and after the show Thursday and I was groovin to it. I can't wait to hear 3121. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

When Jesus asked the Father, "if there be any way, take this bitter cup from me" -- there was no other way... only ONE way -- for Jesus, who never sinned, to die as a sacrifice to pay the wages of ALL sin for ALL mankind. I don't see Prince using this phrase correctly in the song. That's my only beef with it. Those words are full of spiritual meaning, and yet the meaning in the song is reduced to a "daughter" asking her father (Jehovah) to be happy. Where'd the need for salvation go? That's ultimately what Jesus is about -- He didn't come to make us happy, even spiritually happy, because we'd still end up in the same place without His sacrifice, the bitter cup He drank for us.

Aight folks....The other threads were full of requests to hear the new song. Due to legal concerns we have had to lock those threads up and start anew. Please, we can not publically ask for boots on this website. This thread should only be used for discussion of the song: Do you like it? Hate it? In the middle? heres my take: aight..both songs are nice. but once again prince fails to deliver a memorable melody or chorus... these songs are great to listen to the first five to ten times but without a melody or catching chorus to hook you in this stuff will become a bore to our ears... Beautiful, Loved And Blessed has a nice melody..but then prince rushes the same sounding (chorus is it?) that he has resorted to for the last decade. confused .where asking you from the darkness i must confesss part..whatever that is.. thus far Beautiful, Loved And Blessed is better sounding to my ears. buy watch, live Musicology people will love this stuff and then after six months have no desire to listen to any of this again..i hope these songs dont reflect the entire album... -->girlbros radio<<-- Ummm...have you listened to the song AT ALL? You don't find that little funk ending exciting? Are you from friggin PLUTO or somethin'? PEOPLE, DO NOT TAKE THIS PERSON'S WORD FOR IT. THIS PERSON IS WAY OFF TRACK.

Yes, it's Tay-mar. Prince kept saying it @ the Fillmore... I like Tamar better

You think to much. Every man cries out, "save me", "help me", "take this thorn from me"..... Its not as deep as you're making it to be. Prince wasn't even trying to preach any doctrine. Bitter cup..."please take the pain away" "please let the hurt stop".....its about the human condition. A constant battle 2 stay ahead of the game Is anybody famous when everybody wants fame? Always trying 2 break U down Thinkin' that'll raise 'em up I just wanna b happy Come take this bitter cup from me so all of us will be HAPPY dancin' and feelin' good about this song and you sit in the corner analyzin'....
