okay, i'm sitting here listening to it now (thanx to the guy who sent a copy to me  )...it ain't my cup of tea (pretty much middle-of-the-road r & b joint, like the stuff that gets played during the day on KMOJ here in mpls--they'd bump this), but it does make me feel pretty good. that aspect i like about it.
there's religious stuff in this cut? i honestly didn't pay attention to/notice it, because the music itself speaks louder to me than the lyrical content. this was my first time hearing tamar sing...she sounds okay, definitely better than most of the female proteges prince has had "sing" in the past. i give this joint outta 5. | |

The new joint Prince has done with his protege`Tamar is, IMO, the nicest tune he has produced in a hot minute. I love it when he does these mid-tempo songs that allow him to stretch out and mix genres and/or textures the way only he can, ala; "Love 2 the 9's", "The Sun, Moon, and Stars", or even "The Same December", "Joint 2 Joint", and "Everywhere". There have been songs he has recorded, but not released like "1000 Hugs and Kisses" with Nona, that have the same feel, but as I said, never came out. This makes up for that... a little...
I am so proud of P. for doin' this song. He has shown the industry and the world that you can stay true to your convictions and still put out something that is commercial and creative, yet tasteful and inspirational. "Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed" is just that, and so are we to have Prince makin' his music, his way... G'on brutha! On the 1, Peter V. | |
