So back on topic..
After hearing it on the radio, i noticed that P has gone back to the vintage P-sound (think parade-era). He's using the old lindrum again (kick, extremely dirty hihat and claps) in a rhytm not unlike kiss, just a tad slower. He's even using the old AMS 16 reverb units'reverse tube program on the kick again (one of his old tricks to make the kick fill up the bass-end of the mix, just like in 'Kiss'). Furthermore there are lots of synths going on, most of which sound analog to my ears.. don't be surpised if he dusted off the oberheim again.. On top of this bubbly backingtrack there's a lead-synth which seems to use a sinewave, and which goes way up in pitch, is modulated in several ways (pitch, filter). It even goes up a little too high to my liking, and i wouild have preferred saw-waves or pulses.. i guess you can't have it all eh? And ofcourse there's P singin.. singing like it's still 1985, it appears. Does that man ever age? I also noticed quite some noise in the background.. which means that either P has dug up some really old equipment (tape, analog desk) to record this, or that this is actually an older track. I like it a lot in any case [Edited 2/2/06 5:10am]

The soundbite with Homer singing 'You make me feel like dancin' is hillarious! Wainting for some new songs to bust through my speakers now... 555-4444 you're on coffee talk.

Hopefully he'll perform this on SNL this weekend, and I'll get hear it then. But otherwise it's gonna be a loooong wait until next Tuesday. I'm surprised the NPGMC doesn't have at least a short sample of it on the main page.
Actually, I'm not surprised by that at all... By the descriptions this sounds like the funk jam the public (and most fans) have wanted him to make for a long time. It would be cool if it reached the top 40 or something. But I'll keep my opinion open until I hear it for myself. [Edited 2/2/06 5:23am]
