I think it was shelved at the last minute.
which for me was ok cos it seemed to be an absolute "sell out".

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

I can remember seeing this as well...It just didn't seem right. I remember thinking to myself "is he broke or what?" Here is someone that didn't like his stuff being sampled and now he is selling 7 cd's worth (including the classics) for only $700....WOW? eek I'm not hating, it just seemed funny to me and if I had $700 to cough up I would have bought for myself. I saw the promos but that was about it.

Isn't that ad on the Rave DVD too?

My wife would have killed me if he had released that thing because I would have bought it, but for no other reason just to have it.

I don't believe it's the same ad but it was right around the same time. I would have done the same thing and my wife would have killed me as well. lol

When he stopped working on the project, not even one cd full of samples had been finished. I would have bought one. I just started working with a Roland Spd-s sampling pad...and it`s an awesome tool.

But do you really think that by purchasing the set, you would own complete rights to the samples?

Maybe Prince was smarter than that, maybe he was still gonna charge people money if they used those samples on a record... hmmm
