I was simply pointing out that many artists have wacked out fans and I think that Elvis' fans could give MJ's a run in terms of weird scariness. Thanks for telling me how much you hate Michael Jackson-I don't really care about it nor was I asking you about THAT. "New Power slide...."

For you to act like that for an entertainer is pathetic. I finally get the difference between Prince fans and MJ fans. MJ fans are fans of Michael Jackson the person. Prince fans are fans of Prince the artist. I just realised that I dig MJ, like the actually MJ not just his songs, but I don't really dig Prince, I just dig his music.

Co-Sign..I read a book about Prince, and while it was interesting, it didn't offer very much into "insight" about him. I think Prince is probably more down to earth than Michael, which sounds weird kind of saying. haha

I'm a MJ fan, but I know when to draw the line. Those fans who cry over him and pass out at his concerts and take up for him no matter what he does give decent, sane MJ fans like myself a bad name. I refuse to take up for MJ when he's wrong. Grown men don't sleep with little boys, he fucked his face all up, he lies about it, and he makes excuses for his weird behavior. NO, I don't think he is the greatest artist of all time. NO, I don't think Thriller is the greatest album of all time. YES, there a trillion better musicians out there who are better than Michael and Prince is one of them. I think it is unhealthy when you begin to worship celebrities like God. That's going to far. I love MJ's music and he's my favorite singer, but that's where I draw the line.

Isn't the women that pass out and cry when they see Michael at his concerts? I refuse to take up for MJ when he's wrong. Grown men don't sleep with little boys, he fucked his face all up, he lies about it, and he makes excuses for his weird behavior.

Load of shit horse .....the thing is ALL fans of every artists has them but out of them all there not as loyal & dedicated as the MJ fans, they get the most shit because they always support him in every situation from day 1. They have all types of events every year and MJ is even present at times, birthday partys and actual awards from the fans themselves for him.
They were there from the sony bullshit all the way to the trial you saw all the vigils worldwide.....and Michael Jackson is the only artist to have fans that are so loyal. Yeah only MJ fans would travel all the way to a court house to support there idol. And the fans who protested against sony, is one of the reasons tommy motolla got the boot. Also MJ is very close with the boss of sony from japan. ALL this gets media coverage, they are there everytime at all events.....and media only care & take notice of the MJ fans.....they stalk the MJ forums and shit even the haters lurk there too there obsessed. You know on the MJ boards rarely do i see them dissing other artists and there fans, and there all fans of all different artists from madonna, prince, elvis, janet... all types. No problem.... But all the elvis, beatles, prince, madonna and even janet fans diss MJ and his fans all the damn time.....yeah i know why Michael Jackson & his fans are a threat because MJ is too good & the amount of support he gets from them, thats why you always hear on other forums this artists and my idol etc etc is better then MJ and crap. But rarely is the comparing on the MJ forums. And dont give me this blind love bullshit because we learned the truth we studied the facts so im sick of people calling them blind wacko just because we support him everytime. Its just a way the haters discredit the MJ fans. True some worship him like a god, see him as a saint (doves woman lol) heck even some of the public see him as god-like....they dont even see him as a human they expect him to be perfect. And if MJ does something slightly wrong they jump down his throat. Yeah he said his only got 2 surgeries done on the nose but thats fucking understandable HELLO its personal and private why does that matter to the damn public its like he sinned real bad for fucks sake. Anyway not everyone is like that some of the people there are just fans of the music, some critizise everything he does. But most are fans of the person anyway. MJ just has a very strong charisma & just has that effect on people.....its the love you know. And men cry too, they get all shakey & nervous when there in his presence, some cant even speak ive seen footages of it. Again it just happened few days ago to some pizza guy lol. I can understand most prince fans are fans of the music... because the things ive heard of him the person on this board kinda sucks. But for MJ theres lots of reason..... he orders junk food for the fans and has rented hotels for them before, the ones who wait long days out on the streets. He attends there events..... and has invited them inside his own home. Yup & alot more.....he never trys to let them down so you can understand why they love this man so much.

I think people diss MJ and his fans for 2 reasons. 1. MJ time and again lets his personal crap get in the way of his art. He has for a long time now. All his personal BS stands in the way of his music. That's not right. He has made some damn good music and he should either enhance it with his "persona" (like MAdonna does) or let the music live or die on it's own terms without the circus atmosphere. 2. MJ fans can be sophisticated musically, but in general they are not. MJ is the king of pop. Pop music is very fickle and of the moment. Mj's is lasting, but hasn't got the range of Elvis', Madonna's, Prince's or The Beatles work. Plus, he's released a shit ton LESS than those 3. "True some worship him like a god, see him as a saint (doves woman lol) heck even some of the public see him as god-like....they dont even see him as a human they expect him to be perfect." Same could be said about damn near every Superstar level artist. Especially Elvis. His hardcore fans are crazy in love with Elvis. "Yeah he said his only got 2 surgeries done on the nose but thats fucking understandable HELLO its personal and private why does that matter to the damn public its like he sinned real bad for fucks sake. It's personal and private, but he's a PUBLIC PERSON and his been since age 9. That face is used sells records/videos/etc. You said it your self, people feel like they know him. People grew up with him. He grew up in front of us. Anyway not everyone is like that some of the people there are just fans of the music, some critizise everything he does. But most are fans of the person anyway." See how you contradict yourself? You can't have it both ways. How can people be "fans of the person"? They don't know him personally. i think some of mj's fans are very waky, most of them are fanatics but i think its beacause he is more of an entertainer than a musicial, while prince's fans are more musical because he is more of a musician than an entertainer

And now here's my rant...
That's a tad harsh! On MJ fans and MJ. He's not pop, that's why I hate "King of Pop" it's BS. He's done alot of different styles from pop/rock to rnb/soul to straight rock to hip hop. I also wouldn't put Elvis and Madonna up there with Michael Jackson, Prince and The Beatles. That's ridiculous. Elvis had about 4 years of good music (1954-1958). Madonna had a few good songs in the 90's, but all of her 80's music was copied from Michael Jackson. She's now given up on making her own music and is using other people's music like copy/paste to make "new" songs. The Beatles had a few good albums (Rubber Soul, Revolver. Sgt. Pepper's, Abbey Road and White Album), but they made crappy wock and woll (for those who don't know, wock and woll means white rock and roll) in the early 60s. I love the phycadelic (fuck spelling that word), drug addicted, long haired Beatles, but the matching suited early 60s Beatles are in the same boat as Spears, Timberlake and the Backstreet Boys. Prince and Michael Jackson are in the same boat as in from the late 70s to the early 90s they made consitantly great music. From then on, they've had random good songs here and there, but their music hasn't been consistantly great. [Edited 2/3/06 6:00am]

[Edited 2/3/06 6:00am] Okay...where do I begin?...First, I agree with your asessment of Elvis for the most part...In his prime, the Memphis boy was the real deal, but after the '50s he became a running punch line who made equally hilarious movies (Accept for the '50s Jailhouse Rocks...that shit was pretty decent)...Now, on to MJ....To say that the man isn't a pop star because he has dabbled in a myriad of musical styles is at best a weak argument...The fact is MJ came up with the title and truely embraced this tepid moniker of KING Of Pop (Fuck all the Elizabeth Taylor revisionist history shit...We all know Mike's people came up that shit)...Longtime MJ fans, such as myself, were puzzled by this hollow "King Of Pop" billing... To me, "The KING Of Pop" phase was the beginning of the end for MJ...But that's another topic...as for Madonna, i respect her more for her longevity and business savvy than her musical impact...That said, I'm not about to shit on the old bird because she is smart enough to utilize the most cutting edege dance producers on the underground market...MJ is no different if you are going to use such an argument...Over the past 15 years MJ has gone after almost every flavor of the month producer for his projects (Dark Child anyone?)...As for the Beatles, to me they are one of a hand full of white rock icons that actually live up to the hype...The five albums you named contains some of the greatest popular music ever recorded in that 10 year stretch of the '60..If you are judging Mike against the Beatles in terms of popularity during the respective peaks, MJ wins by a nose...However, as great as MJ was (and believe me, he was as incredible as advertised during the Off The Wall and Thriller periods) with his limited catalogue (the man realeased two albums in the '80s...not counting the vastly underrated Triumph album he did with his brothers and the uneven Victoy) Mike doesn't even sniff the Beatles in this regard...and this is coming from a 35-year-old black man from the south side of Chicago...
