Isn't being hit by your employer about the same as winning the lottery in the USA? If so, a smart employer wouldn't hit an employee for that reason alone (not even counting all other reasons, like it's uncivilised). Prince is smart.
I feel safe to conclude that it didn't happen.

I didnt see all that i was 10 people deep from the stage. but the houselights were on for most of that show and i highly doubt Prince would do something he can so easily get called for. he may be an ass, but he knows how to carry himself...sometimes all he HAS is his image!

I see this threads been busy overnight. A few things I want to addrees and then I'll let it go:

purple haze/ kool aid are terms I've been using for years. Only the kool aid is about one's level of brainwashing. And I have said that I think some fans do blindly follow Prince's every utterance to the point of being brainwashed. Am I not entitled to voice my opinion? A better question, since when is that a unique statement here on the Org...geez.

It seems that some folks saw a hit, some saw something and others didn't. I think qualifying of abuse was the saddest reply I saw here. "he didn't hit him that hard" 'he did it cuz his guitar wasn't tuned properly'.

If you hit your dog, I would ask, why did u get it if you have to hit it...but that's me. You own your dog, I know there are confidentiality agreements running around that place but outright ownership, I wasn't aware. I honestly do not see how you can compare the 2.


Someone asked what did I want yall to do? Nothing. I gave no call to arms, made no suggestions. The title says a ?, the question was 'y it was this blown over.?' among others.

NPS thinks that this about Prince becoming a JW. Despite my many assurances to the contrary, he still thinks that. I do not know how I can change a mind that isn't mine. Ah well, I will take solice in the fact that you still love me.

So what is all this about? Like a previous post of mine stated, I am no longer willing to deem Prince's bad behavior OK, just because it's Prince. That seems really rational to me.

I defy any of you defending P or bashing me to say that you would be OK with your boss putting their hand on you in that manner. Please someone sound off on that...only not those 'i wanna work for Prince so bad that he could pour honey over me and stake me out over anthill' replies, I'm cool.

So, to use a phrase my sister coined, in conclusion, I am done.

What does that have to do with anything? Hopefully you are aware that one does not hold an entire religious tradition responsible for the actions of its adherents. Quite frankly I fail to find anything intelligent to be gained from asking if this alleged incident is part of a JW agenda, other than attempting to imply that IT IS.

adorepfunk you have made it clear in the past that after the listening sessions for "The Rainbow Children" where Prince explicitly presented his religious views (views very similar to that of the Watchtower Society), that you felt abandoned by Prince. (A quote to that effect by you used to be on the old Prince.org site.)

So yes I do believe that you have an exe to grind and it has to do with your sense of abandonment by Prince due to his embrace of the Jehovah's Witnesses. And you know what? That's okay. If that's the case, say so. Just don't come on here lying on the man, blowing isht outta proportion, or speaking on stuff you have not witnessed or have no idea about.

You know, I wasn't even going to dignify this stupid rumour with a response. Unfortunately for you all, though, it's late, and I'm cranky, and now I'm going to put my two cents in.

I was one of the lucky first to get to hear this rumour straight from the originators. I felt then, as I do now, that it was highly suspect, because I know one of the people who started it, and though she's usually a nice person, she IS prone to exaggeration and also has a tendency to take Prince's private stuff WAY too personally.
Well, my suspicions about the credibility of this rumour were confirmed when I and some friends talked to Frank, who had asked Takumi personally about the rumour. Not only did Takumi say it did NOT happen that way, he even seemed very insulted that someone would believe he would put up with that.

Something else to consider: Whatever you think of Prince, he is NOT stupid enough to, as the rumour-starter put it that night, "yank Takumi by the hair and slap the back of his head" in front of nearly two thousand people. Sorry, I don't buy it.

People, let this be a lesson to you! Repeat after me: When it comes to rumours, CONSIDER THE SOURCE. And if you weren't even there, DON'T run around spouting crap. You come across as a petty rumour-monger and people who actually were there will call you on it.
