Prince wouldn't hit Takumi on the head like you say. You are Embellishing on the truth . Making a mountain out of a mowhill.

I was right next to takumi that night and the only thing that happened was Prince held the back of takumi's head and got close to him and said something so he could hear him over the music. He didnot hit him.
The next night Takumi was in a very good mood. The celebration was great and Prince was amazing and very generous to the people. I was right there and don't even know what happened. It is unfair to Prince and Takumi to try to assume what happened.

Takumi and every single person working for Prince knows exactly where the exit door is and how to turn the knob. If he's still working for Prince, he chooses to be there and roll with whatever comes his way. And not discuss it publicly on a message board with people who weren't even in the building.

These threads just get better and better!!! Some of you people really think he is part of your property, don't you?

This is unquestionable proof that the high esteem with which I once looked at Prince was unwarranted. I am ashamed that I ever recruited for this man. He obviously does not believe a single word of the crap he's been spewing! I am actually ashamed of Prince, DAYUM I wish he would stop dropping **in my estimation**, pretty soon he'll be lookin up for Hell. A word to the flamers on this one: Let's try to stay on the topic shall we?? For those who want to know how Prince is these
days, check Candy Dulfer's diary under the news articles on the home page of the org, here. She gives up close and personal look. So...how's everybody doing?

That's true. I saw that myself. I wasn't in the front row, but had a diagonal view of this. I'm not saying that Prince wasn't upset because they were have technical difficulties that night, but he did grab the back of Takumi's head and say something to him. It didn't look like a hit to me. my $.02 **************************************************

for those of you talking about the incident with takumi and prince hitting him..i hate to say it it did happen i was at the side of the stage when it happened but in prince's defense he barely slapped him and it was for takumi not properly having prince's gutiar tuned..how long has he worked for prince? he should know by now what his boss expects and that is perfection..don't we all expect it from oursleves? but no matter what was done or said about this incident prince still turned out a great performance and i look forward to next year thanks prince

First of all I am a big fan of the Org. and many of the orgers. I read threads constantly, but there are times when I feel the some of the comments made are based on speculation, rumor, etc. I also feel that because of this, people are passing judgement on a person who we all "think" we know. If, and I do mean "if", prince did hit Takumi upside the head, Takumi is a "grown man" who can stand up for himself. I don't believe that this man is so up princes butt, that weak of a personality, or so scared to loose a job, that he would let another "man" abuse him. Instead of speculating and passing harsh criticism about a situation, that NONE OF US know about first hand (meaning = actually being personnal friends w/ both people AND being there long before, during, & after this incident), let's give Takumi a little credit for not being just a punk flunky!!

Do you think that's an excuse 'not properly tuning his guitar'?

Oh for Pete's sake! I tapped my dog on the nose for trying to sniff my dinner plate the other day, something he has been "taught" not to do. Should I report myself to the RSPCA? I still love the little fella and I'm not about to change him for another one!

Oh please. If you weren't there - you have no idea what happened. Prince runs a business how he runs a business. It was not the way it sounds. It's no different than being in a board meeting and catching someone asleep.
If Takumi does not like his working conditions he does not have to stay. Working with Prince has always been a challenge. We all know Prince's temper and reputation. He has much improved over the years, but he's still Prince. He's a CEO, and can do whatever all CEO's do anyway.

What is it that is supposed to have happened? A slap, a punch, a shove? In what context did this incident occur? Prince and Takumi work closely together and maybe they have a private and particular way that they interact with each other. EXACTLY!

Prince did NOT hit Tekomi! I was standing right there! I later figured that something was wrong but I wasn't sure exactly what. Tekomi was down in the area in front of the stage by the guitar caddy. A string was broken off one of the guitars - the one that has the autograph on the back of it - I think Lenny K. may have given Prince that guitar. Anyway, Prince came over and, with authority, grabbed Tekomi in the back of his head, pulled him close and began talking to him. I could hear Prince's voice because he was speaking loudly but I could not make out what he was saying. Initially, I didn't make much of it. The music was loud and I just thought that Prince was trying to get Tekomi's attention. Again, he grabbed Tekomi with alot of authority but he did not hit him!
Shortly after that, what was turning out to be the bomb azz show, got cut way short! I was a little miffed because, just the night before, Paisley Park was a Hot Box. The air conditioning wasn't working and Prince promised to make up to us the next night. I thought he was gonna "tear shit up" because of the way they marched in from the back of Paisley Park on to the stage! Prince was in an unbelievably happy mood, all smiley and things! I was right there at the steps leading up to the stage as he, Rhonda, JB, Maceo, Greg, Nato and Kirk all marched up! It was freakin' Awesome!! My girl Ree-Ree even got on stage that night! But shortly after that exchange with Tekomi, Prince led everybody off the stage the same way they entered and that was it. I was really disappointed because Prince was in a good mood, wearing those little white wedgy boots with the fringes on them, and the band was really tight that night. It could've been a beautiful night (y'all say!!) at Paisley Pa

I agree with RedZRyder...Prince did not hit Takumi ! I was in front that night also. Prince grabbed him (with his hand) around the back of Takumi's neck and pulled him in closely to tell him something . The band was still playing and it was really loud. I think it was the only way Prince could get his attention without screaming to the top of his lungs. Yes... there was a technical problem and Prince didn't look to happy about it, but he did not hit Takumi.
