Movies that spoof or mention Prince

I saw "Shaun of the Dead" recently and they were whipping old vinyl Prince albums at the zombies. Got me to wondering what movies have had a Prince mention in 1 form or another.

Off the top of my head:

Talk Radio (the pothead kid in the studio)
Shawn of the Dead
Scary Movie
Chasing Amy (or was it Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back...?)
Do the Right Thing (Vito and Mookie talking about race)

Any others?

"The L Word" had a discussion on Wendy & Lisa and Prince and the Revolution

The movie "Dopamine" had a talk about old and newer Prince.

the last boy scout-"gett off" is played at a strip club joe hallenbeck (bruce willis) goes to to meet his client....later on drivn to joe's house, jimmy dix (damon wayans) does prince's "hands down the face" move after joe sarcastically mentions that his daughter likes prince....

the breakfast club-as the kids are eatin lunch allison (ally sheedy) can be seen reading "1999"'s inner sleeve...

this ain't a movie, but the coolest referecne i like is on "the jamie foxx show". there was an episode where jamie calls himself "the bus rider formerly known as jamie", then he actually buys a "little red corvette" and sashays toward the door like our hero....

Corey Feldman is wearing a Purple Rain t-shirt in The Goonies
Ally Sheedy is studying the 1999 Album sleeve in The Breakfast Club
DMSR is playing in the background while Tom Cruise is being interviewed for College in Risky Business

Julia Roberts is listening to Delirious on her walkman while taking a bubble bath in Pretty Woman

John Candy starred in a movie called Delirious

Hm. I didn't think of movies that use the songs.

Beverly Hills Cop - "Nasty Girl" in the strip club scene

Unbreakable has a conversation about Soft & Wet and The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. Took me by surprise when I went to see the movie (and I saw it in Singapore with subtitles - I think they may have even used the symbol in the subtitles, but that seems unlikely).

Squiggly

I haven't seen this one mentioned yet....

Barbershop (can't remember if it's I or II) mentions Prince.

Also, although not being in a movie, it was surprising to hear/see this as kid growing up in the late 70's/early 80's but the TV show Different Strokes actually played part of Controversy in an episode. Dana Plato's character was doing some excercising or something and was playing Controversy to exercise to. I believe she also takes the LP off of the turntable at one point.

check the end where the simon (american idol) clone drops the prince farquardt through a trapdoor and says something like "and there went the artist formerly known as prince'. it was funny but also a bit nasty

Though not movies...the GOLDEN GIRLS had a couple of Prince references...

1-Sophia listening to 'Purple Rain' on her walkman and singing along. FUNNY!

2-A sexually frustrated Blache keeps the hope that 'Someday her prince would come'...Dorothy looks at Sophia and says 'What was that about?' and Sophia replies..."I wasnt listening but what I gathered is that she's gonna go and sleep with that little black guy, Prince!"

3-Dorothy is grading papers and she reads a students essay about 'A Tale of Two Cities' and she read the students comments as saying 'He said he liked Minneapolis better because that's the city Prince is from'

Even our beloved girls were hip to the Purple One!

Are We There Yet? - Playing an old school Prince song to start the movie

Do The Right Thing - Italian don't like no blacks (but you like Prince..)

Showgirls - Practically a Prince soundtrack

Girl 6 - Was a Prince soundtrack

I Might Need Security - Jamie Foxx DVD...Don't Look in his EYES!!! Also does a nice imitation of Prince during his piano sit down.

I saw a show on TV once, looked like it was shot in the early 80's...kids partying on a boat and in the background they were playing PARTYUP or some other old school song.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
