So this gets cleared up, the vocals for SCARLET PUSSY weren't recorded until Tuesday, December 29th 1987 at Paisley Park. It was during a 12 hour session that also included work on Latino Barbie Doll (back when that was to be for Sheila E.).

[Edited 2/11/06 17:01pm] I don;t know about "The Cross" but I can tell you 100% that there was a "Ballad" 12" designed that never made it. I saw it. Jeff Katz photo with yellow overcoat and black hat, sitting on chair with blue type. The "Scarlet Pussy" thing is just someone who's been there 25 years saying "I remember there was supposed to be a single with a B-side that he released a year later on "I Wish You Heaven"...so that's just a mistake, I'm sure. But I saw some amazing stuff that I never knew existed, that's for sure. There was even an alternate "Dirty Mind" cover and back cover that were too risky. | |

Ah, I know that pic. It ended up geing used on the 12" pic disc of "If I Was
Your Girlfriend" in the UK, and it was also used on a few magazine covers around that time too. | |
