There's some good stuff on Gold Nigga. The only thing that ruins it are Tony M. the segues, other than that I like the band sound of the record.

Deuce & 1/4, Johnny, 2Gether, Call The Law, even Black MF in The House I can dig in small doses.

The standouts on the LP for me are Goldie's Parade and Oilcan. cool

Oilcan is an incredible jam!

If this album had been release by the WB, it would have been a hit

did you also know that there are two versions of Gold Nigga.. one with a remake of the beatles someone knocking my door....(forgive if i dont have the title exact, but i know you know what dong i mean) but rumor has it...(and i only use the word rumor cause i cannot confirm) that no-one got permission to do that song so they had to take it out...but alas i have both copies.

just thought someone might find that interesting.

just like only a few of lovesexy album (cd) has separate tracks...you know usually it is all on one track.

k then..thanks and peace.

The correct title is "Guess who's Knockin'" and they only used a sample of the song. They didnt cover it.

The correct title is "Guess who's Knockin'" and they only used a sample of the song, not a remake.

And it isn't a Beatles' song - it references a small part of 'Let 'Em In' by Paul McCartney, which originally featured on the album, 'Wings At The Speed Of Sound'

All CDs produced in Europe are now tracked (dunno about the USA) - so those old tracked promos are pretty much worthless, unless you're specifically after an '88 tracked version.

I also realized, if one accepts GoldNigga as another funk album and not a rap album (Comparing Tony M's rap to George Clinton, instead of Dre.) they would find GoldNigga to be a pretty decent album.

P.S.=> I always thought if Tupac spit over all them beats, the CD would've made a hell of alot more noize....and I'm sure Tupac would have agreed to it being a Prince fan, but I doubt Prince thought highly of Tupac unfortunately
