Is Prince Invisable?

have you ever been talking to someone and realized they are sterotyping you, broadcasting personas upon you, or basicly not seeing you for who you truely are?
That isn't a uncommon factor no matter who you are, but if you become an icon, it is even more of an effect. thus. can't people look at someone and still not see them? I question if anyone has ever seen prince truely.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

What I do know is that in the eyes of the public, the icon is their persona since there's no way for a collective of people, most of whom have only met their hero for a few minutes at best, to really know them in any way.

maybe not everyone. Some people like myself try to get to know the people around them on a deeper level then just what my minds eye would want to percieve them to be. But my point is when you reach legendary statius, I question if you lose sight of yourself and if anyone is ever able to see you again.

I think I know where you're going with this. I beleive it transends just Prince though. The public generally never get to see beyond how a celebrity is portrayed (or how they portray themselves) in the media. Therefore we only see a portion of who they really are. It's nearly impossible to see the full scope of someone unless we know them intimately.

As far as Prince is concerned, we as fans, know more about him and recognize different facets of his personality but I still doubt we truly "know" him. However, the general public probably just sees him as a sex obsessed, eccentric star who was really popular in the 80's.

Many fans think they truly know their idol. It's ok to recognize a few things and believe they are "real" (as opposed to being part of a "persona"), but when a fan starts thinking they "know" the star, or even possibly have a "deep connection", that's when he/she has to realize it is mere projection. The fan projects his desires and feelings on the star and starts believing it's all real down to some minute detail.

It's impossible to "know" anybody you've not had personal interaction with. And it takes a long time to really get to know somebody. And if you say you "LOVE" a person you don't know, you have no idea what love really is.
